With the aim of creating a healthy and beneficial sports playground and connecting different generations of students, faculty, and businesses, on the morning of May 26, 2024, the HCMUTE Alumni Association organized the first-ever "2024 HCMUTE Alumni Open Tennis Tournament" at Le Gia Tennis Court in Thu Duc City. The event saw participation from alumni, university staff, and representatives from key partner businesses.

The closing ceremony and award presentation took place at 2:30 PM on the same day in the lobby of the 6th floor of the university’s central building. This event was not only an opportunity for alumni to reunite and reminisce about their student days, but also a chance to network, learn, and promote sportsmanship among alumni and businesses.

The tournament attracted nearly 70 enthusiastic participants, including alumni, department leaders, faculty members, and the university's partner businesses. Over 48 matches were played, showcasing impressive rallies and thrilling score chases. The intense competition and sportsmanship among the participants from various fields created a vibrant and exciting atmosphere for the tournament.

 At the end of the tournament, the organizers awarded prizes to the outstanding pairs, recognizing the efforts and contributions of all participants. They also expressed gratitude to the sponsors of the tournament. The event left many beautiful memories and was confirmed to become an annual activity, strengthening the bond between the university, alumni, and businesses, and contributing to building a strong and sustainable community.

2. Runner-up: Nguyen Huu Hoang Lam (Director of Minh Ngoc Furniture Company) + Nguyen Huu Truong (Vietcombank)
3. Third place: Nguyen Van Hien (Department Head, Anh Xa Survey Company) + Hoang An Quoc (Department Head, Science and Technology, HCMUTE)
   - Nguyen Hoang Vu (Saigon Tennis) + Trần Minh Vũ (Sales Director, Tam Phat Electrical Technology Service and Trading Co., Ltd.)

Category B:
1. Champions: Tran Binh (Employee, Nam Mekong Company) + Pham Van Nghia (Employee, GF Machining Solutions Company)
2. Runner-up: Pham Van Hiep(Lecturer, Cao Thang Technical College) + Nguyen Phuoc Hai (CEO, TEDCO Vietnam JSC)
3. Third place: Duong Tan Cuong (Director, B & I Electrical and Automation Co., Ltd.) + Truong Dinh Nhon (Dean of International Training, HCMUTE)
   - Pham Huy Huynh (Vinh Phuc Company) + Tran Quang Nhut (Lecturer, Printing and Communication Department, HCMUTE)

In addition to the competitions, at the closing ceremony, the Alumni Association also raised support and contributions from individuals and organizations for the HCMUTE Student Scholarship Fund, totaling more than 40 million VND. The sponsors made a significant contribution to building a financial foundation to support students in difficult circumstances, helping them continue their studies and development. This event also honored the values of humanity and mutual support that the university and its alumni have always upheld.
