After nearly a month of implementation across various fronts from Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces of Dak Lak, Dong Thap, and Lam Dong, on the afternoon of July 29, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) held the Gathering and Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign.

Attending the program from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union were: Ms. Ho Thi Anh Tuyet– Member of the Central Youth Union Executive Committee, Member of the City Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union; and Mr. Tran Thanh Hai– Member of the Executive Committee of the City Youth Union, Specialist of the Youth Affairs and Children’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The event also welcomed leaders of localities where the Green Summer campaign took place in Dong Thap and Lam Dong provinces, as well as representatives of sponsors who accompanied the campaign throughout its journey.
Representing HCMUTE were: Dr. Truong Thi Hien– Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Châu Đình Thành – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of HCMUTE; along with leaders of HCMUTE’s departments, the Youth Union – Student Association, and more than 350 volunteer students – the “soldiers” of HCMUTE.
In his closing speech, Mr. Le Xuan Than – Member of the City Youth Union Executive Committee, Secretary of HCMUTE Youth Union, and Chief Commander of HCMUTE’s 2025 Green Summer Campaign – expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Party Committee and the University’s Board of Presidents, city leaders, sponsors, and all those who supported and created favorable conditions for the campaign to be a resounding success. He also extended appreciation to the volunteer students who set aside their summer vacations with their families to choose to devote themselves to the community. “You are not just volunteers; you are the outstanding sons and daughters of HCMUTE, a source of immense pride for your teachers and the University.”

Frontline in Dong Thap Province – Hoa Long Commune:
Installed 90 solar-powered streetlights, illuminating over 3,000 meters of rural roads for safe nightly travel;
Paved 1.8 km of rural roads, ensuring year-round accessibility;
Built the “Dream Bookshelf,” expanding learning opportunities for local students;
Awarded dozens of scholarships and gifts to support children’s education;
Organized meaningful “Gratitude Meals” with local residents;
Conducted 06 training sessions on AI applications for local officials.
Frontline in Dak Lak Province – Phu Mo and Xuan Lanh Communes:
Installed 60 solar-powered lights to brighten village roads;
Renovated 02 playgrounds, providing safe recreational spaces for children;
Built a “National Flag Road” and mural artworks, enhancing cultural identity and community spirit;
Organized lively “Children’s Classes” to nurture knowledge for highland kids;
Held training sessions on AI, VNeID, and the “Digital Đắk Lắk” app, promoting local digital transformation.
Frontline in Lam Dong Province – Tuy Duc Commune:
Installed a clean water filtration system, ensuring safe drinking water for students in the highlands;
Added 55 solar-powered lights along residential routes;
Built 02 children’s bookshelves, fostering a reading culture;
Organized a “Zero-Cost Market” to share love and support with disadvantaged households;
Assisted over 300 residents in accessing public services, contributing to the development of e-governance.
Frontline in Ho Chi Minh City:
Established 03 “Knowledge Stations – Accompanying Digital Citizens,” supporting more than 600 residents in using online public services;
Organized 19 science playgrounds, inspiring curiosity among more than 900 children;
Planted over 300 trees, enriching urban greenery;
Carried out activities of remembrance, including the “Gratitude Candle-Lighting” ceremony, honoring fallen heroes and martyrs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of HCMUTE – congratulated and praised the perseverance and enthusiasm of the volunteer students, while igniting further passion for future journeys. He expressed confidence that the spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility of HCMUTE students will continue to spread, becoming a cherished tradition across generations.

To honor the contributions and dedication of the volunteers, HCMUTE presented awards to outstanding groups and individuals who achieved remarkable accomplishments during the campaign. The university also presented souvenirs to representatives of localities and units as a token of appreciation for their companionship and support throughout the campaign.

After more than a month of dedicated service, filled with meaningful projects and initiatives, the campaign concluded, leaving indelible memories in the hearts of every volunteer. Beyond its practical contributions to the community, the campaign instilled pride, compassion, and a spirit of devotion in each participant. These valuable experiences will continue to empower HCMUTE’s youth to write new chapters of volunteer spirit in the journeys ahead.
