On the morning of July 15, 2025, at the Main Hall of Zone A, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) held the Conference of Delegates of Public Employees and Staff to elect members of the University Council for the 2025–2030 term.
This conference marked a significant and meaningful event, demonstrating the university community’s spirit of democracy, transparency, and responsibility in building a strategic governance structure, contributing to strong and sustainable development in the coming years.

HCMUTE’s Staff and Employee Delegates Electing University Council Members for 2025–2030 Term
The event was attended by Dr. Truong Thi Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector; Dr. Quach Thanh Hai – Member of the Party Committee Executive Board, Vice Rector; along with 532 delegates who are staff and employees of the university.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Truong Thi Hien emphasized:
“During the 2020–2025 term, the University Council made significant contributions to the development of the university. It gradually completed a governance model toward autonomy, issued and monitored the implementation of development strategies, restructured the organizational system, and enhanced the quality of education, scientific research, and international cooperation. In particular, the Council’s advisory, supervisory, and decision-making roles have greatly contributed to increasing the university’s autonomy and promoting transparency in the management and administration of activities.”

She further affirmed:
“Today’s conference is a particularly important event, showcasing the collective spirit of democracy, transparency, and responsibility in shaping a strategic governance system. It lays the groundwork for the university’s robust and sustainable development. This is also an opportunity for us to reflect on our progress and introduce outstanding, dedicated, and competent candidates who represent the university’s staff, employees, and social organizations in assuming leadership roles during this pivotal phase of governance and educational transformation.”

Announcement of the list of nominees from the University’s Executive Leadership and the Party Committee Executive Board.

According to the proposal, the University Council of HCMUTE will consist of 21 members, including:
14 internal members (4 ex officio members and 10 elected members)
7 external members (1 representative from the Ministry of Education and Training and 6 representatives from the social community)


Once the election results are finalized, the newly formed University Council for the 2025–2030 term will convene its first meeting. Subsequently, HCMUTE will complete the documentation to submit to the Ministry of Education and Training for official recognition.
