In the dynamic flow of national development and international integration, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) is steadily affirming its role as one of Vietnam's leading higher education institutions, aligning with the national vision of becoming a developed country by 2045.
Guided by its educational philosophy of "Humanity – Innovation – Integration", HCMUTE has, over the years, prioritized the holistic development of its students — from offering flexible, practice-oriented academic programs to providing scholarships, academic and entrepreneurial support, and, notably, modern and advanced facilities.
Recently, in the spirit of April’s historic days leading up to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, HCMUTE was honored as one of Ho Chi Minh City’s 50 leading brands and key products. This marked the first time higher education institutions were included in the selection program — a significant milestone that underscores the increasingly prominent role of universities in the city’s sustainable development ecosystem. HCMUTE was one of only three universities recognized.
In addition, HCMUTE has the honor of being selected to host the 7th National Startup Day for Students in 2025, with the attendance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. This is not only a great privilege but also a remarkable milestone, reflecting the trust and expectations of the Party and State leadership in the University’s role in educational innovation, the development of the startup and innovation ecosystem, and the training of high-quality human resources for national growth.
Earlier, on February 27, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 452/QĐ-TTg approving the Master Plan for the Network of Higher Education and Pedagogical Institutions for the 2021–2030 Period, with a Vision to 2050. Under this plan, HCMUTE was designated a key institution in the field of engineering and technology, alongside national and regional universities, playing a core role in training high-quality human resources, advancing strategic technologies, and supporting national digital transformation.
On June 14, 2025, at a conference to implement projects on human resource development and the “Triple Helix” cooperation model among the Government, Universities, and Enterprises, the Ministry of Education and Training announced a list of 13 universities designated as Centers of Excellence and Talent in Technology. HCMUTE was selected to lead the Center of Excellence and Talent in Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Energy.
Furthermore, HCMUTE is among 18 public universities prioritized for investment in institution-level semiconductor laboratories to support the training of human resources for the semiconductor industry, as outlined in Decision No. 1017/QĐ-TTg dated September 21, 2024, approving the Program for Developing Human Resources for the Semiconductor Industry to 2030, with a Vision to 2050.
