In his opening speech, MSc. Nguyen Thanh Giang expressed his delight at continuing the meaningful collaboration with Popular Science Magazine in a series of practical activities. He emphasized that the topic “Caring for the Musculoskeletal System and Preventing Stroke” addresses increasingly common and concerning health issues, not only for the elderly but also for young workers and students – those often facing stress, physical inactivity, or poor posture at work. According to Mr. Giang, physical and mental health form the foundation for an effective, humane, and sustainable working and learning environment. The “Healthy and Happy Every Day” program not only provides useful, accessible scientific knowledge but also promotes healthy living habits and proactive disease prevention rather than solely focusing on treatment.

Speaking at the program, Journalist Bui Huong noted that musculoskeletal disorders and strokes are becoming more prevalent and are affecting younger people. These health issues not only impact quality of life but also work performance and family well-being. Therefore, raising community awareness and encouraging proactive health care are essential. “We believe that today’s program will deliver accurate medical knowledge from experts in an easy-to-understand and relatable way, enabling lecturers and students to actively monitor their health and gain the knowledge needed to prevent diseases, thereby improving their quality of life,” she shared.
During the event, Dr. Nguyen Duc Lam, Level II Specialist presented on “Caring for the Musculoskeletal System”, followed by MSc. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Trung, Level I Specialist from the Cerebrovascular Diseases Department of 115 People’s Hospital, who delivered a session on “Preventing Stroke”. The guest speakers also answered numerous questions from staff, employees, and students about preventing strokes and maintaining musculoskeletal health.

The program concluded in a lively atmosphere, with participants gaining valuable information from the guest speakers. The practical knowledge shared not only enhanced awareness but also encouraged the adoption of healthy lifestyles among staff, employees, and students.
Through this activity, the role of the University’s Trade Union in supporting the physical and mental well-being of faculty and staff was once again reaffirmed, reflecting the institution’s genuine care and closeness to its community.
