On the morning of July 10, 2025, at the Main Hall – Zone A, the Youth Union – Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) organized the Launching Ceremony of the 2025 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign.

The ceremony welcomed the participation of representatives from the Youth Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. From HCMUTE, the event was attended by Dr. Truong Thi Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Rector; along with leaders from various departments and units.

In his opening speech, Le Xuan Than – Member of the Executive Committee of the City Youth Union, Secretary of HCMUTE Youth Union, and Commander of the 2025 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign – emphasized the enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility, and creativity of HCMUTE youth in contributing to community building and spreading deep human values.

Representing more than 300 campaign volunteers, Huynh Ngoc Tai shared heartfelt emotions, expressing his pride and spirit of service while wearing the green volunteer shirt – a symbol of compassion and commitment.

This year, the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign at HCMUTE continues to receive valuable support from corporate sponsors – a major source of motivation that enhances the impact and effectiveness of volunteer activities, specifically:

WESET English Center Co., Ltd.: 15 million VND in cash;

PMP English Center: 20 million VND in cash and 2 scholarships (15 million VND each);

BIDV – East Saigon Branch: 20 million VND in cash;

Siam City Cement Vietnam Co., Ltd. (INSEE): 50 tons of cement for a construction project in Dong Thap Province;

Hoa Sen Group Joint Stock Company: 30 million VND in cash;

Duy Tan Plastics Manufacturing Corporation: 20 million VND in cash and 500 thermal bottles.

On this occasion, the university also honored outstanding groups and individuals who contributed to the "Exam Support Campaign 2025." A total of 10 volunteer teams and 10 excellent students received certificates of merit for their practical support to nearly 1,000 candidates at 7 national high school graduation exam sites.

At the event, the Command Committee of the Campaign was officially introduced, including 20 representatives from various volunteer fronts and specialized teams, along with chief and deputy commanders.

To ensure the campaign’s success and meaningful outcomes, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, on behalf of the Party Committee and University Leadership, addressed the Command Committee and all volunteers, encouraging them to focus on the following key missions:

Effectively implement the "Digital Literacy Campaign", empowering young volunteers to assist local communities – especially youth – in accessing and applying digital technologies in education, work, and daily life. Volunteers should also help residents use online public services, digital signatures, and e-commerce platforms.

Proactively support local authorities by engaging in suitable tasks such as data entry, document digitization, guiding residents in using online services, and disseminating information to build public consensus on administrative restructuring. Volunteers must limit their roles to technical support, logistics, and communication, without interfering in the official duties of civil servants.

Organize child-focused activities to protect, care for, educate, and entertain children in the local areas, ensuring every child benefits from meaningful, engaging, and appropriate programs.

Expedite the completion of key construction projects, implement social welfare activities effectively, and maintain discipline, proper conduct, and strict compliance with the rules of the university and the host locality.

Preserve the image of HCMUTE Green Summer Volunteers – always modest, respectful, united, disciplined, creative, and dedicated. Volunteers should leave a positive impression, inspire trust and admiration wherever they go.

The 2025 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is not just a journey of growth and learning – it is also a season of sharing, connection, and affirming the social responsibility of HCMUTE youth, who are always ready to serve for a better community.
