At the session, both sides focused on discussing several strategic cooperation areas. In training, one of the key points was joint postgraduate education. Accordingly, HCMUTE will support postgraduate training in disciplines not yet available at Nam Can Tho University but are HCMUTE’s strengths, for lecturers and researchers of Nam Can Tho University and the Mekong Delta region. In addition, the two institutions agreed to pursue joint transfer programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for both domestic and international students of Nam Can Tho University, as well as implement English training programs. This initiative not only helps strengthen students’ foreign language proficiency but also opens opportunities for accessing knowledge and global integration, empowering them to confidently engage in the international academic environment.
The cooperation program also includes faculty and student exchanges, thereby fostering a diverse academic environment where lecturers and learners can experience new teaching and learning methods, as well as explore different cultural backgrounds. This activity holds particular significance in broadening perspectives, inspiring creativity, and strengthening the collaboration between the human resources of both institutions.
In the field of science and technology, HCMUTE and Nam Can Tho University will co-organize specialized seminars and academic competitions to provide intellectual playgrounds that encourage research and innovation among students. At the same time, both sides will promote technology transfer, leveraging each university’s strengths and research outcomes to serve socio-economic development, especially in the southern region and the Mekong Delta.
Beyond academic activities, the cooperation program also encompasses field trips and short-term training courses for both students and lecturers to learn from each other’s experiences. With HCMUTE’s strengths in engineering and multi-disciplinary training, combined with Nam Can Tho University’s model of integrating business operations, medical training, and leveraging the unique resources of the Mekong Delta, the partnership is expected to generate outstanding development opportunities and bring practical benefits to both institutions and the community.
