On the morning of August 11, 2025, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), a ceremony was held to renew the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on credit recognition between HCMUTE and the University of Adelaide (Australia). This event follows the fruitful cooperation the two universities have built since 2021, when they first signed a credit recognition agreement and successfully implemented undergraduate transfer programs. The renewal not only strengthens the existing partnership but also expands the scope of collaboration, creating more opportunities for learning, research, and academic exchange for students and faculty members from both sides.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Quach Thanh Hai – Vice President of HCMUTE – expressed his honor in welcoming the University of Adelaide delegation and congratulated them on the merger between the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, forming one of the largest and most influential universities in Australia. He emphasized that the partnership between HCMUTE and the University of Adelaide has grown stronger since the first credit recognition agreement in January 2021, with two 2+2 programs in Information Technology and Civil Engineering. This renewal reaffirms mutual trust and commitment, while opening opportunities to expand into new areas such as information technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainable development, energy, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and future industries.

Prof. David Lloyd, representing the University of Adelaide, commended HCMUTE as a prestigious partner with strong capabilities in training technical and technological human resources, and acknowledged the tangible cooperation results achieved, particularly in student exchange activities under the New Colombo Plan. He affirmed that in this new phase of cooperation, the University of Adelaide aims to further expand transfer programs, enhance academic exchanges, implement international internship programs, and carry out joint research in strategic fields.

The collaboration between HCMUTE and the University of Adelaide began in 2020 and was formalized through a credit recognition agreement in January 2021. Based on this foundation, the two universities have successfully implemented two 2+2 undergraduate programs in Information Technology and Civil Engineering, enabling students to study two years at HCMUTE and two years at the University of Adelaide, earning internationally recognized degrees. These programs have brought practical benefits for students by reducing costs and study time, while providing access to advanced education, modern research environments, and global business networks.

During this working session, the two sides discussed achieved results and potential areas for expansion. HCMUTE expressed its interest in working with the University of Adelaide to develop new programs in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainable development, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and future industries.
