On the afternoon of August 13, 2025, at Meeting Room 1 – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), the Signing Ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between HCMUTE and GELEX Group Joint Stock Company took place. The event was held to officially establish a strategic and sustainable partnership between the university and the enterprise, opening up comprehensive collaboration opportunities in training, research, technology development, as well as supporting students in accessing a professional working environment.
Representing GELEX Group at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung – Deputy General Director; Ms. Mai Thi Minh Thu – Director of Human Resources; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong – Head of Training & Development, along with representatives from member company Vietnam Electric Cable Corporation (CADIVI). On HCMUTE’s side, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President – attended together with representatives of the Office of Corporate Relations, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer.
The cooperation agreement between HCMUTE and GELEX focuses on various practical areas: organizing company visits and experiential learning programs; internship and training collaboration; career fairs and career orientation talks; scholarship sponsorship; activities in research & development (R&D) and technological innovation. These activities aim to improve training quality, connect theory with practice, and contribute to developing high-quality human resources for the nation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President of HCMUTE – expressed his honor in cooperating with GELEX, one of Vietnam’s leading multi-sector investment groups. He emphasized the vital role of enterprises in accompanying universities so that students can access modern technology, practice professional skills, and foster innovative thinking. This cooperation not only marks the beginning of a strategic relationship between the two sides but also lays the foundation for training generations of highly qualified engineers who meet the labor market’s demands.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung – Deputy General Director of GELEX Group – affirmed that the group’s goal is to become a leading industrial corporation in the region, contributing to a safe and sustainable society. He noted that many of GELEX’s key leaders are HCMUTE alumni; therefore, this cooperation is not only about recruitment but also about joining hands with the university in training activities to nurture talented engineers and future leaders.

HCMUTE students will not only acquire knowledge in the classroom but also gain opportunities to engage in real working environments and directly address practical production and business challenges. In return, enterprises benefit from fresh ideas and highly applicable research outcomes from the university’s lecturers and students. This is a win–win partnership, enhancing training quality and innovation capacity while contributing to building high-quality human resources to meet the needs of sustainable development in society.
