On the morning of August 21, 2025, at Meeting Room I, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). This event marked an important milestone, opening up opportunities for comprehensive cooperation in training, research, and career development in accounting and business according to international standards.

 

The ceremony was attended by ACCA representatives, including Mr. Renjith Kerala Varma – Director of ACCA for Mainland Southeast Asia, and Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Hang – Head of External Relations, Education Division of ACCA for Mainland Southeast Asia. On behalf of HCMUTE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Quang Vang – Dean of the Faculty of Economics, MSc. Nguyen Thi Chau Long – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Tran Quang Tri – Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Education, Dr. Huynh Phuoc Son – Head of Enterprises Relation Office, MA. Le Phan Nhat Hang – Deputy Head of Enterprises Relation Office, along with faculty members of the Faculty of Economics.


Within this partnership, HCMUTE and ACCA will jointly implement many practical programs, most notably the integration of ACCA’s Diploma in Accounting and Business into the curriculum of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of International Education. Both sides also agreed to strengthen the organization of seminars, workshops, and professional training courses, while expanding opportunities for students to access international certificates such as CertIFR, CertIA, CertDA, CertDIP, and others. At the same time, ACCA’s extensive professional and business network will provide HCMUTE students with valuable opportunities for career orientation, company visits, and professional skill development, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market.


Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President of HCMUTE, emphasized:
“Cooperating with ACCA – one of the world’s leading professional organizations – is a strategic move for HCMUTE to improve training quality, promote international integration, and open up career opportunities for students in the field of accounting and business.”

 



On behalf of ACCA, Mr. Renjith Kerala Varma affirmed:

 

“ACCA is honored to accompany HCMUTE – one of Vietnam’s leading universities. We believe this cooperation will bring students valuable learning and career development opportunities in line with international standards. ACCA is committed to fully supporting HCMUTE students to become internationally competent accounting–business professionals who contribute to the sustainable development of the economy.”

 



HCMUTE has always placed emphasis on improving training quality, not only by updating curricula to international standards but also by enabling students to access highly practical professional certificates. In the context of a highly competitive labor market, these certificates help students affirm their professional capacity and gain an advantage in seeking employment both domestically and internationally, while also reflecting the university’s commitment to training human resources that meet the real needs of enterprises and society.

With a spirit of sustainable cooperation and strategic vision, the signing ceremony between HCMUTE and ACCA has laid the foundation for long-term collaboration in training and developing high-quality human resources. This marks an important step forward in HCMUTE’s journey of international integration and opens up many opportunities for students to confidently pursue careers in accounting and finance in the context of globalization.
