Finals and Award Ceremony of Vietnam Young Talent in Logistics 2024

The Vietnam Young Talent in Logistics competition has solidified its reputation as a prestigious platform for students passionate about logistics to showcase their talents and creativity. Since its inception in 2018, the competition, organized by the Vietnam Association for Logistics Manpower Development (VALOMA) in collaboration with the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has aimed to enhance the quality of human resources in the logistics industry.

Over seven years, the competition has expanded in scale and influence, attracting a growing number of participants nationwide. It aims to identify and nurture young talent while fostering collaboration between academia and industry. Additionally, it plays a critical role in raising awareness about the importance of logistics development in Vietnam.

The LOGTOWIN team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education made its mark by winning Second Prize in the final round

This year’s competition saw record participation, with over 2,000 contestants from 500 teams nationwide. The final round, featuring 16 outstanding teams, was a testament to the vibrant and inspiring competition that logistics continues to ignite among the youth.

LOGTOWIN: An Inspirational Journey to Second Place

The LOGTOWIN team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) has built a strong reputation over the years, securing third place nationally in 2019 and second place in 2023. Continuing this legacy, LOGTOWIN triumphed in this year’s competition, claiming the runner-up title in the 2024 finals. This achievement not only underscores the exceptional capabilities of HCMUTE students but also highlights the team’s growth, determination, and creativity over time.

Pioneering Green Logistics Project

LOGTOWIN stood out in the finals with their innovative project titled “Green Logistics: Collecting Agricultural Pesticide Packaging Waste – A Pilot Project in Tien Giang Province.” The project tackled the pressing issue of agricultural waste, which poses severe environmental and health risks in the Mekong Delta due to improper disposal practices.

The team, composed of four talented students — Quoc Lam, Thanh Thuy, Manh Quynh, and Duy Tan from HCMUTE’s Faculty of Economics — developed the REPES app, a digital platform aimed at efficiently collecting and processing pesticide packaging waste. The app not only helps reduce pollution but also raises awareness among farmers about proper waste management practices, marking a significant step toward sustainable agriculture.

A Long Road to Success

LOGTOWIN’s journey to the finals was a remarkable testament to their hard work and innovation. Among over 500 teams in the preliminary rounds, the team impressed the judges with their concise and impactful presentation. Advancing to the semifinals, where 51 of the best teams competed, they further demonstrated their expertise through a detailed project pitch and confidently addressed challenging questions from the judges.
In the grand finals, LOGTOWIN’s sharp analysis, clear communication, and strategic approach earned them a well-deserved place as one of the top two teams in the country.

HCMUTE’s Dedication to Student Development

LOGTOWIN’s success reflects not only the team’s efforts but also HCMUTE’s commitment to fostering student growth and excellence. The university actively invests in creating opportunities for students to participate in academic and extracurricular activities. From hosting specialized workshops and providing soft skills training to encouraging participation in national and international competitions, HCMUTE ensures students are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Moreover, the university prioritizes building a modern, dynamic learning environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking, enabling students to excel in their future careers.

LOGTOWIN’s achievement is a testament to this supportive ecosystem. The guidance and mentorship provided by the Logistics Department of the Faculty of Economics played a vital role in the team’s success, further reinforcing HCMUTE’s reputation for excellence in education.

This accomplishment not only solidifies HCMUTE’s standing as a leading institution in Vietnam but also inspires future generations of students to rise to new challenges, pursue innovation, and contribute meaningfully to the logistics sector.
