On the afternoon of November 26, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shinawatra University (SIU), Thailand, to foster international cooperation in education, research, and faculty and student exchange.

Representing HCMUTE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Dinh Nhon, Dean of the Faculty of International Education; and Dr.Tran Quang Tri, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs. On behalf of SIU, the delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Price Chow, President of Shinawatra University; Dr. Sun Jin, Dean of International Education; Mrs. Tran Thi Thu Thao, Deputy Dean of International Education; and other representatives from various departments.

Recognizing shared visions and development goals, the two universities finalized the MOU after in-depth discussions to establish a sustainable partnership. The agreement outlines collaborative initiatives, including faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, co-hosted international conferences, and shared access to research resources.

 

Key Initiatives Under the MOU

 

To bring the agreement to life, SIU has committed to supporting HCMUTE in faculty training. Specifically, SIU will organize specialized training courses during the summer semester to enhance the professional expertise and teaching capabilities of HCMUTE’s academic staff. This initiative represents a significant step forward in developing high-quality human resources, meeting the demands of educational innovation, and advancing international integration. At the same time, it deepens the partnership between the two institutions.

The signing ceremony marks a pivotal moment in the first collaboration between HCMUTE and SIU. This partnership paves the way for faculty and students from both universities to advance their research capabilities, publish internationally, and engage in dynamic exchange programs. It also sets the stage for future joint initiatives that will foster academic excellence and cultural connection.
