On the morning of November 11, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) and Deo Ca Group held a meeting to strengthen their cooperative relationship and promote the development of high-quality human resources to meet the increasingly stringent demands of the labor market. The program not only acknowledged the valuable support from the business sector in training and providing scholarships for students but also opened up many opportunities to enhance the professional expertise of both faculty and students, laying the foundation for sustainable development of the workforce in the future.
Attending the event on behalf of HCMUTE were Dr. Truong Thi Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council, Prof. Dr. Quach Thanh Hai – Vice President, Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam – Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Prof. Dr. Truong Nguyen Luan Vu – Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Dang Quang Vang – Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Tran Vu Tu – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Construction, and Prof. Dr. Vo Viet Cuong – Director of the Training Department. Representing Deo Ca Group were Mr. Ho Minh Hoang – Chairman of Deo Ca Group, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh – Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of Kim Long Manufacturing Plant, along with other representatives.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the implementation of joint training programs with high applicability, such as in the construction of transportation infrastructure, automotive engineering, automation, signal information, as well as advanced technologies such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI). These programs are expected to closely meet the real demands of the industry and provide opportunities for both students and faculty to update their knowledge and develop specialized skills aligned with international standards.
In addition, the training will be closely linked to the requirements of businesses to ensure that graduates not only have solid theoretical knowledge but also practical expertise, making them ready to work in industrial environments. Particularly, outstanding candidates will have the opportunity to be supported in pursuing master's and doctoral programs abroad in specialized fields such as Railways, Automation, and Semiconductors.
To achieve the set goals, HCMUTE and Deo Ca Group need to collaborate in developing practical training policies and importing advanced learning materials, as well as establishing internship programs at the group’s construction sites and Kim Long Manufacturing Plant in Hue. Additionally, both parties have discussed the establishment of the Deo Ca – Kim Long Research and Training Institute at HCMUTE, which will function as a research cooperation, training, and scholarship fund management center. This institute promises to be a solid foundation to help HCMUTE and Deo Ca Group develop a high-skilled workforce, serving the needs of industrial and societal development.
It is known that Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of Deo Ca Group, is an alumnus of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at HCMUTE and currently serves as a member of the University Council. Over the years, Mr. Ho Minh Hoang and Deo Ca Group have made significant contributions to the university’s training and human resource development activities while demonstrating their sense of responsibility toward the educational community. This collaboration marks an important development, not only enhancing the quality of education at HCMUTE but also contributing positively to the sustainable development of society.
Following the meeting, both parties will begin implementing the next steps in their action plan, assessing feasibility, and realizing the cooperation goals.
