In recognition and celebration of individuals who have earned the titles of "Outstanding Young Educator," "Young, Talented, Friendly Officials," "Five-Star Students," as well as groups honored with the "Five-Star Collective" accolade at all levels of the University, an event was held on the evening of January 15, 2024, at the main auditorium of Zone A, organized by the University to commemorate the Exemplary Youth Teachers in Engineering Ceremony 2024 – HCMUTE Youth Awards 2024.
Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Youth Union, including Comrade Trinh Thi Hien Tran – Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Council, and Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung – Deputy Head of the Youth School Committee of the Youth Union.
Representing HCMUTE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Nguyen Luan Vu – Party Committee member and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Comrade Le Xuan Thanh – Member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the School Union, and Deputy Head of the Communication Department, along with other faculty members who lead various units within the University.
During his address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Nguyen Luan Vu highlighted the emergence of outstanding Party leaders from past student movements, such as Comrade Tran Phu, Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Comrade Ngo Gia Tu,... underscoring the pivotal role students play in the nation, particularly amidst the current trajectory towards industrialization and modernization.
On behalf of the University's Party Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Nguyen Luan Vu commended the remarkable achievements in scientific research and innovative endeavors of both lecturers and students. He cited the University's rise to the 9th position among Vietnamese universities, 68th in Southeast Asia, and its placement within the top 401+ universities in Asia as evidence of HCMUTE's immense potential for future development. He also extended congratulations to the young, outstanding officials and teachers, as well as the 138 students who were recognized as "Five-Star Students" at various levels.
The titles of "Outstanding Young Educator" and "Young, Talented, Friendly Officials" are esteemed accolades bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in administrative activities, teaching, scientific research, and exemplary conduct, serving as shining examples for students. Following a rigorous evaluation process, the University selected 02 outstanding young officials and 04 exemplary educators who earned these titles during the 2022-2023 academic year.
The Exemplary Youth Teachers in Engineering Ceremony 2024 also served as an occasion for the University to honor outstanding students, notably those who participated in the "Five-Star Students" movement, recognized as the largest student movement nationwide. This prestigious title underscores the dedication and efforts of each student in cultivating themselves across all five criteria: "Morality, Academics, Health, Volunteering, and Integration." Following a thorough evaluation, the University identified 138 students who achieved the "Five-Star Student" title at the University level, including 22 students who achieved this distinction for three consecutive years. Additionally, two groups were acknowledged for their "Five-Star Student Collective" achievements at the University level, along with five students recognized at the city level and one student at the central level.
