In order to enhance understanding of intellectual property (IP) and promote IP activities in scientific research among faculty members, on the morning of December 14, 2023, at Meeting Room II, the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology Education (HCMUTE) and the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Center (SHTT&CGCN) of the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, organized a signing ceremony for the MOU and a workshop introducing intellectual property and regulations on establishing IP rights.
Attending the workshop from HCMUTE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang, the President of the university, Mr. Vũ Văn Phong, Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology, specialists from the department, and over 100 faculty members. Representing the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Center were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Từ Diệp Công Thành, the Director, and Mr. Vương Hoàng Nguyên, Head of the Intellectual Property Office.
According to the memorandum, HCMUTE and SHTT&CGCN will collaborate to support strategic consulting and accelerate the rapid development of intellectual property assets; provide comprehensive consulting services and establish intellectual property rights (IPR) for products resulting from training and research processes; offer training, development, and workshops on intellectual property; provide on-demand consulting on IP and related issues, technology transfer, and innovation and entrepreneurship; collaborate in organizing seminars/conferences and exchanging specialized topics on intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and innovation; jointly implement research projects related to intellectual property and science and technology innovation; and coordinate other relevant collaborations related to intellectual property and science and technology innovation.
This partnership represents an opportunity to leverage the strengths and potentials of both parties, contributing effectively to the construction and development of scientific and technological capabilities. It particularly focuses on intellectual property assets. This collaboration will contribute to advancing HCMUTE's intellectual property assets through establishing intellectual property rights, guiding commercial exploitation, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
