On the morning of October 5, 2023, HCMUTE organized the opening ceremony for the academic year 2023-2024 and 61st founding anniversary of HCMUTE.
Representing the entire leadership, faculty, staff, and students of HCMUTE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang highlighted notable achievements in human resources, digital transformation within the university, collaboration with businesses, admissions activities, infrastructure improvement, and more over the past year, in celebration of the university's 61st anniversary.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang, on behalf of the university leadership, outlined six tasks for all officials, faculty, staff, and students of HCMUTE to implement effectively in the academic year 2023-2024, under the theme "Let’s make HCMUTE powerful and reputable!" These tasks include: continuing to enhance the quality of education; promoting digital transformation in teaching and university management; intensifying scientific research, international integration, and business relations; evaluating undergraduate and master's programs; innovating and upgrading facilities and the university landscape; standardizing and expanding the internal and external communication system of the university to enhance its brand.
On September 14, 2023, the university had a meeting and exchange session with Ms. Truong My Hoa, Former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Former Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, and Head of the "For Hoang Sa – Truong Sa Beloved" Club. Following the meeting, HCMUTE decided to become a member of the "For Hoang Sa – Truong Sa Beloved" Club and collaborate with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund in meaningful activities to support students in the near future.
The university also commended the valedictorian and two runners-up with high scores in the entrance exams (Valedictorian Do Viet Hoang - Robotics and Artificial Intelligence major with a score of 28.75; Runner-up Do Quang Tri - Control Engineering and Automation major with a score of 27.85; Runner-up Nguyen Chi Duc - Automotive Engineering major with a score of 27.75). These students would receive a scholarship multiplied by their exam scores (1 million VND per point), as well as traditional scholarships awarded by the Vu Dinh Hoe family (the valedictorian receives 6 million VND, and each runner-up receives 4 million VND).
With the theme for the academic year 2023-2024, "Let’s make HCMUTE powerful and reputable!" the university would make efforts to become a focal point for education and technology, making a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.
