On the afternoon of March 14, 2025, Deputy Minister of Education and Training (MOET) Nguyen Thi Kim Chi held a working session with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) regarding the preparations for the 7th National Startup Festival for Students in 2025.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi and Dr. Tran Van Dat, Deputy Director of the Department of Student Affairs, representing MOET. On HCMUTE's side, participants included Dr. Truong Thi Hien Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Quach Thanh Hai, Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice President; along with leaders of relevant offices.


According to the plan, the 7th National Startup Festival for Students will take place over three days (April 18-20, 2025) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.


Providing an update on the preparations, Dr. Tran Van Dat stated that the 2025 festival is expected to attract a large number of participants, including representatives from central agencies, the judging panel, competition teams from Departments of Education and Training and universities, as well as businesses and other organizing entities. The event promises to be a gathering place for innovative startup ideas, helping to promote the spirit of innovation and connect resources within the young startup ecosystem.

Ensuring Professionalism, Safety, and Effective Organization

 

Dr. Tran Van Dat emphasized that the organizing committee places special importance on ensuring security, safety, environmental sanitation, and fire prevention throughout the event. Additionally, detailed plans have been made for coordinating student participation in activities at the main hall, as well as assigning volunteer teams to assist delegations and program operations, ensuring a professional and efficient event.

 

Dr. Truong Thi Hien affirmed that although HCMUTE is a technical university, it is highly committed to community-oriented programs, including the National Startup Festival for Students. Recognizing the significance of this national event, HCMUTE hopes to receive specific guidance from MOET to ensure the best possible organization. The university will establish a rapid response team to promptly handle assigned tasks and closely coordinate with relevant units to ensure a smooth and professional event. With extensive experience in organizing major programs, HCMUTE is confident in successfully hosting the festival. In the coming period, all resources will be dedicated to the event to ensure a well-structured and impactful experience.

MOET’s Direction and Expectations

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi highlighted that the 2025 National Startup Festival for Students is not only an annual event but also carries special significance as it marks the conclusion of the Prime Minister’s “Supporting Student Startups Until 2025” initiative (Decision No. 1665/QĐ-TTg) and the preparation for a new phase. The festival will feature a series of key activities, including an opening ceremony attended by the Prime Minister, participation of central and provincial leaders, dedicated forums for university and high school students, and a final closing ceremony.


The Deputy Minister commended HCMUTE for its proactive and coordinated approach in preparing for the event. She urged the university to continue accelerating the planning process, thoroughly reviewing all related aspects to ensure the festival’s success. She particularly emphasized the importance of security and order, stressing that no incidents should occur. Furthermore, she called for a well-coordinated media strategy to effectively disseminate information about the festival.

Deputy Minister Visits HCMUTE’s Facilities


Before the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Thị Kim Chi toured HCMUTE’s facilities and expressed her admiration for the university’s modern infrastructure and scale. She highly appreciated the university’s significant investment in educational and research infrastructure, particularly its state-of-the-art equipment and laboratories, which align with advancements in science and technology in the digital era.


On this occasion, the Deputy Minister also engaged with students to discuss their learning environment, university support policies, and career opportunities after graduation.


Following her visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi affirmed that HCMUTE is not only a reputable training institution but also a center for innovation, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources in science and technology to meet the country’s needs in the era of Industry 4.0.
