Mr. E Mohanagumaran M Elanjaran General Director of On Semiconductor Vietnam shared his idea
The partnership between HCMUTE and On Semiconductor Vietnam promises practical benefits for students, offering opportunities to access advanced technology, improve professional knowledge and soft skills, and meet the growing demands of the job market. This collaboration represents a crucial step towards developing high-quality human resources and contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
On Semiconductor Vietnam, a subsidiary of the US-based On Semiconductor Corporation, is a leading provider of semiconductor-based solutions, with a comprehensive portfolio covering efficient power and signal management, logic solutions, connectivity devices, and sensors. The company plays a significant global role, serving various industries including automotive, telecommunications, consumer electronics, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
Training high-quality semiconductor engineers in Vietnam has become increasingly urgent. The semiconductor industry is pivotal in technological advancement and innovation, impacting fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, and automotive industries. According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam will require at least 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030, ten times the current number, to support the country's rapid development.
To achieve this goal, it is essential to develop specialized training programs in collaboration with universities, research institutes, and industry leaders. Partnering with global technology leaders like On Semiconductor will facilitate technology transfer and provide invaluable practical experiences for developing the future workforce in this critical sector.
