To enhance collaboration in education, training, scientific research, and the exchange of students and faculty, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LILAMA 2 Technology International College on the afternoon of June 17, 2024.
Attending the signing ceremony from HCMUTE, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thien Ngon, Deputy Head of Mechanical Engineering faculty; Dr. Tran Thanh Thuong, Head of Admissions & Student Affairs Office; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Phong, Deputy Head of Science and Technology Office; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy Head of Cooperation and Training Development Office; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc, Deputy Head of Cooperation and Training Development Department; and M.Ed. Le Viet Tien, Deputy Head of Press and Media Office.
From LILAMA 2, attendees included Mr. Nguyen Khanh Cuong, Party Secretary - Rector of the College; Dr. Le Quang Trung, Chairman of the College Council - Vice Rector; Mr. Do Le Hoang, Head of Training Department; Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Head of Mechanical Engineering Faculty; Mr. Vo Van Hoang Long, Head of Electrical Faculty; and Mr. Kieu Tan Thoi, Deputy Head of Technology Engineering Faculty.
At the start of the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Acting President of HCMUTE, shared: “HCMUTE is deeply impressed by the training programs, facilities, and advanced mechatronics equipment that meet international standards at LILAMA 2. The quality of education provided to students there is outstanding. We hope that this collaboration will continue to grow strongly and effectively, enhancing the skills and diversifying the career paths for local students.”

Additionally, M.Eng. Nguyen Khanh Cuong, Rector of LILAMA 2, remarked: “Our college strives to develop international cooperation programs, creating opportunities for students to participate in the labor market. We are committed to implementing training models linked with businesses and improving facilities and digital technology labs for students. Through this, LILAMA 2 aims to maintain a long-term cooperation with HCMUTE, leveraging our strengths to train a skilled workforce for the country.”

Under the cooperation agreement, HCMUTE and LILAMA 2 will enhance their collaboration in several areas: dual education programs, distance learning classes, student recruitment counseling, professional development for teachers, recruitment for master's programs, and the organization of scientific and technological conferences, academic seminars, and STEM training for local students and faculty. Furthermore, LILAMA 2 will provide advanced equipment and make investments according to German standards in fields such as mechatronics, CNC metalworking, and 4.0 automated electrical systems.

The cooperation between HCMUTE and LILAMA 2 is seen as an opportunity to promote educational training activities, scientific research, and professional development for faculty, as well as support student recruitment for joint training programs in the academic year 2024-2025. This partnership will enable students to access advanced technologies, equip themselves with professional knowledge, and enhance their soft skills, contributing to the development of a well-qualified workforce to meet labor market demands.
LILAMA 2 International Technology College, a public institution under the Ministry of Construction, was selected by the Prime Minister as one of the first autonomous colleges in Vietnam. Over nearly 30 years, the college has developed into a trusted provider of high-quality technical labor for the Southern economic zone and national key projects such as the National Convention Center, Phu My Thermal Power Plant, Dung Quat Oil Refinery, Ca Mau, Nhon Trach power plants, oil rig manufacturing, hydroelectric plants, and especially high-level technical labor for export to countries like Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Middle East.
LILAMA 2 has had a long-standing cooperative relationship with HCMUTE. Currently, both institutions are enhancing their comprehensive cooperation to train high-quality human resources in fields such as electrical-electronics, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, construction, and logistics, to effectively operate Long Thanh International Airport, expected to be operational by 2026. This collaboration promises to bring practical benefits, meeting the country's economic and social development needs.
