Pursuant to the Decision No. 3815 and 3816 / QD-BGDĐT dated November 20th, 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training, on December 21st, 2020, in the HCMC University of Technology and Education, solemnly held the Ceremony of announcing and awarding the decision to recognize the School Council and the President of the School Council for the term of 2020 - 2025. This was a particularly important event to mark a new stage of development for the University.

Attending the ceremony, on the side of the Ministry of Education and Training, there were the presences of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc - Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Don - Head of Technology and Environment Department (Ministry of Education and Training) - School Council members along with teachers in the board of Ministry of Education and Training. On the side of the Party Committee of the sector of university and college, there were Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Sector of University and College - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of University of Education, Ms.Nguyen Thi La - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of HCMC University and College Sector. Ms. Dinh Thi Thao Trang - Standing member, Chairman of the Party Committee of Inspection; Ms. Do Thi Ha - Standing member, Head of the organization board of the Sector Party Committee.

For the guests, the ceremony welcomed Mr. Vo Quang Hue - General Director of Vingroup - member of the School Council; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Linh - Deputy General Director - Saigon Transportation and Mechanical Corporation - member of the council; Mr. Nguyen Van Sang - Deputy General Director of Deo Ca Group; Mr. Huynh Tan Thuyet - Director of TOYOTA Bien Hoa Company - Former member of School Council; Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Vice President of Quang Trung University - a member of the University Council; M.A. Bui Ngoc Hung - Chairman of the School Council of HCMC Nong Lam University. 

On the side of HCMC University of Technology and Education, there were the presences of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen - President of the School Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Dung - Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the School along with the president of Trade Union, Secretary of the Youth Union, Head of the Student Association, Representative of the School's Former Personel Association, School's Veterans Association, teachers in the Executive Committee of the Party Committee and leaders of units in the school and media units.

At the ceremony, Mr. Vu Dang Thanh - Main Specialist, Department of Organization and Personnel - Ministry of Education and Training announced the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training to recognize the School Council and President of the School Council of HCMUTE for the term of 2020 -2025.

 Introducing 19 members of the Council of HCMC University of Technology and Education for the term of 2020 - 2025

 The School Council of HCMUTE for the term of 2020 -2025 included 19 members, an increase of 2 members compared to the previous term. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen was re-elected as the President of the School Council. The School Council performed the tasks, powers and operated under the provisions of the amended Law which contained a number of articles on Higher Education.

Accordingly, the school council term of 2020-2025 had 06 members outside the school including: Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Don - Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment (Ministry of Education and Training), Mr. Pham Dai Duong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Phu Yen province, Mr. Truong Mr. Dung - General Director of General Department of Vocational Education (MOLISA), Mr. Ho Minh Hoang - Chairman of Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, Mr. Vo Quang Hue - Deputy General Director of Vingroup, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Linh - Deputy General Director of Saigon Transportation and Mechanical Corporation.

 
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc - Deputy Minister of Education and Training affirmed: HCMC University of Technology and Education was one of the leading units in piloting and reforming autonomy under Resolution 77 of the Government. He commented that the university continuously innovated in university administration, training, scientific research, international cooperation. The results were relatively comprehensive. He praised “HCMUTE is a dynamic university, leading in the system of university and college sector in the South and the country in general; The school focuses on transfer, start-up, innovation, expanding many international cooperative programs.”

Besides, speaking about the direction and orientation for HCMUTE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc had given the following tasks: continue to consolidate the presidential board to early stabilize and facilitate the development of the school, quickly complete and issue internal regulations to perform autonomy well. He emphasized: “This is a very important legal framework to concretize the provisions of Law 34 or Decree 99."

At the same time, the Deputy Minister said that thanks to Law 34 and Decree 99, the current higher education institutions and colleges had become much more dynamic. It created pressure on schools to compete with each other to improve quality. Therefore, he said: "With a new leadership team in a new period, the school needs to review and consolidate strategic directions to improve its position in the future". He believed that HCMUTE would continue to grow strongly to become one of the leading schools in the South as well as the whole country and have potentials to reach out to the regional scale.

Finally, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Van Phuc, hoped that teachers in the presidential board as well as the school union must be exemplary to work together for the general development. This was the key to provide a foundation in order to perform above tasks well, he added.

Speaking to accept the duty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen - President of the School Council on behalf of the members of the School Council term of 2020 - 2025 accepted the direction of Deputy Minister of Education and Training - Nguyen Van Phuc. He showed his determination by the speech: “I hereby pledge that as the president of the school council to make sure the School Council remains its role as the governing body implementing the representative right of the owner as well as related parties. We will quickly implement the Deputy Minister's instructions, especially on 3 areas: consolidating the Presidential Board and the system, regulations, and reviewing the strategic plan so that the University can develop in the new era. "

In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen - President of the School Council also sent his thanks to the leaders and departments of the Ministry of Education and Training, He hoped that the University would continue to receive much attention from units under the Ministry of Education and Training in the coming time. He expressed the luck when the members of the School Council for the 2020-2025 term had representatives outside of the school who came from the Ministry of Education and Training as well as enterprises. “I believe that with the responsibilities and powers stated in the amended Law containing a number of articles on the Higher Education together with capable, visionary and determined members will come up with right decisions to develop the school in the coming time.”- The President of the School Council shared.

He hoped that in the next term, there would be a good working coordination between the Party Committee, the School Council and the Presidential Board as in the previous term. At the same time, he called for all the teachers and officers of departments to creatively work together to develop the school in accordance with the slogan “To be the most innovative university”.
