On the afternoon of May 19, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the HCMUTE 2020–2025 Exemplary Role Model Conference, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) was officially awarded the Educational Quality Accreditation Certificates for eight academic programs. These include six master's degree programs and two undergraduate programs, accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, MA – Chief of Office of the Saigon Center for Educational Quality Accreditation. On behalf of HCMUTE, the event welcomed Dr. Truong Thi Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Rector and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Member of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; along with leaders of departments and units, representatives of organizations, lecturers, staff, and a large number of postgraduate and undergraduate students.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, HCMUTE continues its consistent efforts to enhance the quality of education. In line with its strategic direction of continuous improvement, the University has actively collaborated with reputable domestic and regional accreditation organizations to conduct assessments and external evaluations. These efforts are critical steps in standardizing academic programs based on both national and international benchmarks, aiming to strengthen the higher education system, ensure comprehensive quality, and meet the increasingly high demands of society and the labor market for high-quality human resources.
Previously, in January 2025, the Saigon Center for Educational Quality Accreditation conducted an official survey of six master's and two undergraduate programs. As a result, all eight programs were recognized as meeting educational quality standards according to the decision issued by the Minister of Education and Training on May 9, 2025.

The accredited programs are:
Master's level: Thermal Engineering, Economic Management, Computer Science, Food Technology, Control and Automation Engineering, and Subject Teaching Methodology.
Bachelor’s level: English Language and Computer Engineering Technology.
As of May 2025, HCMUTE has achieved:
18 programs accredited under AUN-QA standards
25 programs accredited under MOET standards
This brings the total to 35 out of 68 programs (51%) university-wide having completed accreditation. Specifically, at the undergraduate level, 29 out of 45 programs (64%) have met quality standards.

Receiving the accreditation certificates for these 8 academic programs is a testament to HCMUTE’s educational philosophy of “Humanism – Innovation – Integration.” By continually improving academic programs, enhancing the quality of faculty and staff, and investing in modern infrastructure, HCMUTE is building a progressive educational ecosystem centered around learners. Moving forward, the University will further strengthen its efforts in educational quality accreditation according to international standards, expand cooperation and integration, and foster a comprehensive learning environment where students are inspired, developed, and empowered to contribute to national prosperity.

The survey followed a rigorous and objective process, including the review of self-assessment reports and supporting documents, interviews with internal and external stakeholders, on-site inspections, and assessments based on 11 standards and 50 criteria defined in Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT, with cross-referencing to the AUN-QA assessment framework.
