On the afternoon of May 19, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) successfully held the HCMUTE Advanced Role Models Conference for the 2020–2025 period and a Commendation Ceremony for individuals and groups who made outstanding contributions to the organization of the 7th National Startup Day for Students and Pupils 2025 (SV.Startup 2025).

The conference was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh – Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel Organization, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET); and Mr. Doan Truong Quang – Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
From HCMUTE, participants included Dr. Truong Thi Hien – Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Deputy Party Secretary, University President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Party Committee Member, Vice President, along with members of the Party Executive Committee, all Party members, delegates of the Advanced Role Models Conference, Executive Committee of the University Trade Union, Youth Union – Student Union, faculty, staff, and students.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh praised the university’s outstanding achievements in academics, scientific research, pedagogical innovation, and the implementation of practical initiatives across the university that contribute to the sustainable development of HCMUTE.

In her keynote speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh – Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel Organization, MOET – representing the Standing Committee of the MOET Emulation and Commendation Council, highly appreciated HCMUTE’s achievements during 2020–2025. She emphasized the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality, innovate teaching methods, and update training programs to better meet real-world demands, resulting in over 95% of graduates securing employment.
“The emulation movements initiated by the Prime Minister and the education sector have been actively embraced and widely promoted at HCMUTE, among staff, faculty, and students alike. The university’s success is a result of unity, innovation in governance, and a shared commitment to building a professional educational environment that steadily enhances training quality,” said Ms. Hạnh.

She also referenced the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which emphasizes breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, recognizing education and training as a central force in developing high-quality human resources. Accordingly, MOET has designated the theme for the 2025–2030 emulation campaign:
“Emulating innovation and creativity to enhance education quality and supply high-quality human resources to meet national development needs.”
On behalf of MOET, Ms. Hanh urged HCMUTE to continue following President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching: “Emulation is patriotism, and the most patriotic are those who emulate the most.” She called on the university to build upon its strengths, address limitations, and actively implement the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW on fundamental and comprehensive educational reform. Key focus areas include:
Improving faculty quality, attracting talent, and enhancing professional and foreign language competence.
Innovating and regularly updating training programs to boost practical skills and soft skills.
Promoting comprehensive digital transformation toward a smart university model.
Expanding educational offerings at multiple levels to meet diverse learning needs.
Boosting scientific research, especially practical and applied projects.
Strengthening international cooperation and enabling exchange opportunities.
Enhancing the quality and effectiveness of emulation and commendation activities across the university.
Responding to these directives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – HCMUTE President – affirmed the university’s commitment and launched the emulation campaign for 2025–2030 with the following goals:
First, intensify core emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and MOET, and evaluate the “Innovation in Management, Teaching, and Learning 2020–2025” movement to inform future activities.
Second, continue promoting MOET’s emulation campaigns.
Third, emphasize accountability among university leaders and department heads in organizing and implementing emulation and commendation policies.
Fourth, foster emulation in teaching and research, adopt innovative methods, apply digital tools in lectures, and prioritize practical research.
Fifth, improve commendation practices to ensure accuracy, timeliness, transparency, and motivational impact, with a focus on recognizing outstanding role models, new ideas, and frontline educators.

The conference reviewed the outcomes of patriotic emulation movements during 2020–2025 and summarized efforts to build and expand exemplary role models. HCMUTE also set directions and goals for enhancing the effectiveness of emulation and commendation activities for the 2025–2030 period. On this occasion, the university honored 03 exemplary teams and 23 outstanding individuals for their notable achievements in contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the 11th Central Party Committee on the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training.

From April 18 to 20, 2025, HCMUTE successfully hosted the 7th National Startup Day for Students and Pupils (SV.Startup 2025), attracting over 775 innovative projects focused on technology transfer and entrepreneurship. As the host institution, HCMUTE excellently fulfilled the responsibilities entrusted by the Government and MOET.
