On May 26, 2023, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, athe seminar on "Building a roadmap and strategy for Digital Transformation in Vietnam's Higher Education" was co-organized by HCMUTE and Phu Xuan university. The workshop was a part of the series under the project "DIGI: Change" - Enhancing the digital transformation capacity of universities in Vietnam, co-led by Phu Xuan University (Vietnam) and Liverpool John Moores University (United Kingdom).
At the seminar, Mr. Pham Ngoc Lan - Head of Membership Affairs Department, Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges emphasized that the mission of the "Digi: Transformation" project is to change the perception of Digital Transformation for students. Presenting at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Director of HCMUTE's Digital Learning Center delivered his speech about "Experience and model of digital transformation in teaching and learning activities at HCMUTE".
According to Mr. Triet, it is necessary to have the attention and companionship of the Presidential board of the University, the Deans of the Faculty when applying digital transformation models in teaching and learning activities at the school. The opening of online classes, learning via online platform when the lecturer cannot attend the offline classes has solved the dilemma of finding a make-up session.
The online teaching system has become an effective tool for teachers and students. Students are more active in learning by logging into the system, previewing lectures and learning materials before going to class. Instructors can create questions and allow students to take online tests, with the results automatically graded by the system. It can be seen that the model of online teaching in combination with offline classes is being applied successfully by HCMUTE.
