With the desire to enhance exchange activities and experiences, the Department of Restaurant Management - Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) annually organized meetings about cooking topics with famous experts and speakers.
On May 5, 2023, the Department in cooperation with the United States Poultry and Egg Export Association (USAPEEC) organized the USAPEEC Tailored Seminar and Cooking Contest 2023 (USAPEEC Tailored Semina and Cooking Contest). This was the first program that the Department cooperates with the Association, with the participation of more than 120 students majoring in Restaurant and Catering Management and Civil Engineering, and other students of the University.
At the seminar in the morning, Chef Norbert Ehrbar - Founding member, advisor of Saigon Professional Chef Association, member of World Association of Super Chefs in Vietnam shared with students his knowledge on cold chain supply chain and food safety. With the ingredients of American chicken breeds, through his skillful hands, Chef Norbert Ehrbar guided everyone to make 03 nutritious dishes using American chicken: Pan-fried American chicken with soup, crushed cauliflower; Thai style curry with American chicken on skewers with Caesar sauce. Participating in the seminar, students also had the opportunity to directly enjoy the food and ask questions to Chef Norbert.
Following the seminar in the morning , there was the contest "Challenge delicious dishes from American chicken" which took place in the afternoon at the kitchen workshop of the HCMUTE Department of Restaurant Management. 60 students majoring in Restaurant and Catering Management, Civil Engineering, and other students of the University were divided into 30 teams to compete in creativity and cooking delicious and nutritious dishes.
