The Ho Chi Minh City Student Leader Contest is held every two years. It is an opportunity to assess the attitudes, knowledge, skills, and professional capabilities of student union members, which helps shape training, workshops, and development programs for city-wide student union leaders. It also allows student union members to network, learn, and train, contributing to the fulfillment of their duties at their units. Through this competition, positive individuals are identified for further development to strengthen the leadership at various levels of student unions.
The final ranking round and award ceremony of the 7th Ho Chi Minh City Student Leader Contest will take place on the evening of October 24, 2024. During the final round, six contestants will compete in three stages.
In the first stage—"Portrait of a Leader"—contestants must convey messages and perspectives on practical student union work, student movements, and issues relevant to the student community in the city. Each contestant has a maximum of three minutes for their presentation.
Next, the contestants will proceed to the "Leader Conqueror" round. Each of the six contestants will answer 20 questions from the organizers, with 30 seconds allotted per question. The questions focus on knowledge about the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the life, career, thought, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh, and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union.
The third stage, "Sharp Leader," consists of nine question boxes displayed on a screen. Each contestant, in the order they were drawn in the "Portrait of a Leader" round, will select a question related to social situations, issues relevant to students, student union work, and student movements. The questions will be presented in the form of data, videos, images, sounds, and materials. Based on the given situation, contestants will present their viewpoints and arguments.
