On the morning of August 27, 2025, at Meeting Room 1 – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), the Signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between HCMUTE and PetroVietnam Engineering Consultancy JSC (PVE) took place. The event not only marked a significant milestone in strengthening the relationship between academia and industry but also opened a new chapter of comprehensive cooperation aimed at developing high-quality human resources, advancing scientific research, fostering technological innovation, and meeting the growing demands of the energy industry.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of PVE were Mr. Ta Duc Tien – Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Ngo Ngoc Thuong – Deputy Party Committee Secretary, General Director; Mr. Le Cong Tanh – Director of the Design Consultancy Center (DEC); Mr. Nguyen Cong Chi – Deputy Director of DEC; along with other senior leaders. Also present was the delegation from New Energy Magazine, which collaborated with PVE in covering the signing ceremony. Representing HCMUTE was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Standing Member of the Party Committee, Vice President, along with leaders of the Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Office of Corporate Relations, Office of Science and Technology, Office of Cooperation and Training Development, and the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Transfer.

According to the cooperation framework, HCMUTE and PVE will implement practical joint programs across three key pillars: training and human resource development, research and technology transfer, and building a support ecosystem for students. Specifically, students will have opportunities to participate in company tours, internships, recruitment programs, and career skill training, while also learning from business experts through practical seminars. In research, PVE will provide real-world problems for HCMUTE faculty and students to solve, thereby developing products, technical solutions, and optimizing production processes. Additionally, PVE will offer scholarships and organize company visits. The cooperation program will particularly focus on disciplines closely related to the oil, gas, and energy sectors such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Vehicle and Energy Engineering.

In the context that HCMUTE has been entrusted by the Government to lead the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent in Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Energy, this cooperation promises to provide a solid foundation for the university to train high-quality human resources in oil, gas, and energy—key industries in Vietnam’s sustainable energy transition. With decades of experience and strong reputation in oil and gas consultancy and design, PVE will serve as a bridge connecting HCMUTE’s faculty and students with real-life enterprise projects, thereby cultivating applied research capacity, innovation, and problem-solving skills aligned with societal needs.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Standing Member of the Party Committee, Vice President of HCMUTE, emphasized:

“Today’s signing marks an important milestone, opening opportunities for a long-term cooperation between HCMUTE and PVE. We believe that the commitments will soon be transformed into concrete programs, contributing to the enhancement of training quality and the development of human resources for the nation.”

On behalf of the enterprise, Mr. Ta Duc Tien – Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVE, affirmed:

“With over 27 years of establishment and development, PVE has always valued cooperation with universities to nurture generations of talented engineers. We expect this agreement will not only provide HCMUTE students with opportunities to experience a professional working environment but also accompany the sustainable development of the oil, gas, and energy sectors of the country.”

Additionally, Mr. Nguyen Cong Chi – Deputy Director of DEC, delivered an overview of PVE’s history, development, and core areas of operation. He emphasized PVE’s pioneering role in oil and gas consultancy and design and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening partnerships with universities to link training activities with real-world production and business practices.

This cooperation signing event not only laid the foundation for a strong and enduring partnership between HCMUTE and PVE but also reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting innovation, connecting education with industry practices, and making practical contributions to socio-economic development as well as the training of high-quality human resources for the nation.
