On October 13 2018, based on the idea of "Automation Project-Based Learning Competition", the Representative Office of Arizona State University in Vietnam in cooperation with the BUILD-IT project and the Rockwell Automation Company, Polyco Corporation, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the "Rockwell Automation Competition" at the HCMUTE.
The Rockwell Automation Competition takes place from 8/2018 to 10/2018, expanding the project-based learning goals for the five member universities: HCMUTE, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Da Nang University of Technology, HCMC University of Industry, Lac Hong University. HCMUTE is the first school to participate in and organize the competition in the semi-final round.
In order to be able to successfully complete the test, students spent 2 months studying, researching and practicing on AUTOMATION KIT sponsored by Rockwell and Polyco. With the 180 minutes of the competition, the teams had to apply their knowledge, expertise in combining Automation Project Based Learning with practical ideas to solve the problems.
At the end of the "Rockwell Automation Competition," each member of the three teams with the best results got a scholarship of one million dong and they will go on to represent the HCMUTE to join the final in September next year.
In addition to the competition, the UTE-Rockwell Automation (D101) Laboratory of the Automatic Control Department, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, HCMUTE, has recently received a grant package valued at 57.000 USD from Rockwell Automation Vietnam to upgrade its automation equipment.
