On the morning of November 29, 2022, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education organized the opening ceremony for the official evaluation of four HCMUTE training programs based on AUN-QA standards. This was preceded by a self-assessment procedure with the submission of documents attesting to the quality of the training program, and a pledge to make efforts to have AUN-QA certificates for four additional training programs. Four of the university's training programs that were assessed this time included Chemical Engineering Technology, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Biomedical Engineering, and Accounting. The assessment period will from November 29, 2022, through December 1, 2022.

There were 10 members of the AUN-QA Evaluation Team, led by Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Kamil Mahmood of Universiti Sains Malaysia, and two observers from Lac Hong University who attended the launching event. On behalf of the school's leadership board, there was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Vice Rector, Dr. Truong Thi Hien – Vice-Rector of the University, representatives from the HCMUTE Party Committee, Trade Union; Deans of Faculty; Centers; Rooms; Departments; some lecturers, and students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – vice-rector of the school, indicated in his opening session that the 305th AUN-QA review will be a key milestone in the University's quality assurance journey. HCMUTE has made ongoing efforts over the past decade to become an innovative and creative university that provides the optimal environment for lecturers and students to educate and grow. Evaluation sessions will improve the University's training and services in the future as a result of the comments and recommendations offered by the external assessment team. With the educational philosophy "Humanity - Innovation - Integration" and slogan "Becoming the most creative university", HCMUTE strives to be a pioneer in the development of unique training programs that are relevant to reality, contemporary society, and businesses. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang is confident that four training programs will soon be examined and accredited by AUN-QA.

Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Kamil Mahmood, Head of the AUN-QA External Assessment Team, would like to thank HCMUTE for the warm welcome and acknowledge the efforts made to improve training programs. He added that the assessment team that visited the University not only assessed and gave feedback but also provided advice and suggestions to build era-appropriate training programs to promote comprehensive educational development and international integration among regional universities. He also stated that this was the first time returning to Vietnam after two years of doing online assessments owing to the influence of COVID-19. HCMUTE has had a great deal of innovation and originality in keeping with the HCMUTE ideology.  He had high hopes for the School's future external evaluation sessions.
