On the morning of November 18, 2022, “The 40th anniversary  ceremony of Teachers’ Day 20/11/1982 - 20/11/2022 '' was solemnly held by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. This was an occasion to look back at the glorious traditions, honor and express a sense of gratitude, respect towards generations of former staff and lecturers of the University. This was also the time for the University to honor groups, lecturers and staff who have had many contributions, achieved many remarkable accomplishments in teaching, scientific research and technology transfer in the last academic year. 

The 40th anniversary  ceremony of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day

At the ceremony, there was the participation of MA.Vu Thi Ngoc - Head of the Southern Representative Office of the Vietnam Education Union; Comrade Nguyen Phi Ho - Deputy Head of the Legal Policy Board, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union. From the University, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang - Deputy Party Secretary, Acting Vice-President of the University; Doctor Truong Thi Hien - a member of the Party Standing Committee, Vice President of the University; as well there were the Party Executive Committee, leaders of the University’s divisions and offices, all the University’s lecturers, teachers and officials and many students. Especially, this ceremony was joined by lecturers and teachers who were members of the former Board of Administration, lecturers and teachers who are current leaders and those who used to work in this University throughout many eras. 

As the ceremony’s opening, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang - Deputy Party Secretary, Vice-President of the University delivered the speech to remember the traditions of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, at the same time, praised and honored the University’s teachers, lecturers and officials throughout different eras. The University has unceasingly developed many aspects, being one of the universities with the greatest contribution in educating and training the high-quality techno-engineering labor force for society. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang also sent the best wishes and the sincerest tribute to all HCMUTE lecturers, hoping that our great lecturers will continue with their noble mission as “cultivators of knowledge” and successfully sail many more generations of students to the land of enlightenment, contributing to the educating mission of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education in particular and to that of the whole country, in general. 

On behalf of all the University’s students, Tran Khanh Huy - the President of the HCMUTE Student Union - delivered to lecturers and teachers the best wishes, expressed whole-hearted gratitude - as the traditional spirit of “drink water, remember its source” - for their tremendous devotion to generations of HCMUTE students. “At this moment, we do not know anything to say but a great thank and grand respect for everything our beloved teachers and lecturers have done for us - firm knowledge as belongings for us as future engineers, to build and contribute to our country with hearts and minds.

The University honorarily received reward decisions from The Ministry of Education and Training, honoring groups, teachers and lecturers who have had many contributions, achieved many remarkable accomplishments in teaching, scientific research and technology transfer. The rewards include: 

Emulation flag from The Ministry of Education and Training, granted to 01 Group (The Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), who achieved excellent, symbolic accomplishments in the emulation movement “Innovation and creativity in administrating, teaching and studying” in the academic year of 2020-2021;

The title “Ministry-level Emulation Fighter”, granted to 03 individuals (Assoc.Prof Trinh Khanh Son - Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology; Assoc.Prof Nguyen Thanh Hai - Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Assoc.Prof  Chau Dinh Thanh - Faculty of Civil Engineering) for their excellent and symbolic records in teaching, from the academic year of 2018-2019 to 2020-2021;

Certificate of Merit from The Ministry of Education and Training, granted to 01 individual (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thanh Trung - Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering)  for has splendidly done the tasks in two consecutive years, from the academic year 2019-2020 to 2020-2021;

Certificate of Merit from The Ministry of Education and Training granted to 07 groups who achieved the title “Advanced Labor Collective”, in the academic year 2020-2021.

In addition, it was as well the University’s honor to received and presented “Trophies of Educating Mission” for 25 individuals who have had many contributions to the mission of educating and training of the nation. At here, Vietnam Education Union also tributed:

Certificates of Merit from Vietnam Education Union, granted to 01 group and 02 individuals with excellent records in the emulation movement “Scientific Research and Technology Transfer” in the academic year 2021-2022. 

The HCMUTE 40th anniversary ceremony of Teachers’ Day ended in an exhilarating and warm atmosphere. Honor and pride are the motivation for the effort of lecturers and officials of the University to build and develop HCMUTE.
