As part of the 2026 Networking – Recruitment – Career Fair, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE, formerly Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education) organized the seminar titled “HCM-UTE–industry seminar on enhancing human resource quality”.

At the seminar, representatives from HCM-UTE included Dr. Huynh Phuoc Son – Head of the Office of Enterprise Relations and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Networking – Recruitment – Career Fair; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le My Ha – Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; along with faculty members representing various units of the university.

 

From the guest side, participants included Ms. Le Thi Thanh – Director of Human Resources and Employer Branding at TTI Group; Mr. Vu Thanh Tuan – Director of the University Partnership & Talent Development Program (Southern Region), FPT Software, FPT Corporation; along with representatives from participating enterprises.

 

In his opening remarks, Dr. Huynh Phuoc Son emphasized that improving human resource quality is an urgent challenge in the current context. Through in-depth presentations and an open discussion session, the university expected enterprise representatives to jointly assess the current situation, candidly evaluate challenges, and propose strategic solutions. The core objective of the event series is to strengthen substantive collaboration between HCM-UTE and the business community, thereby co-creating a highly qualified workforce that meets the increasingly demanding requirements of the labor market.

At the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le My Ha presented a paper titled “The Effectiveness of Enterprise Engagement Models in Engineering Education: International Experience and Practical Implementation at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, HCM-UTE.” This presentation highlighted practical models that have been successfully implemented by the Faculty in recent years.

From the enterprise perspective, Ms. Le Thi Thanh delivered a presentation titled “HCM-UTE & TTI – Strategic Partnership and Future Workforce Development.” In the field of digital technology, Mr. Vu Thanh Tuan presented on “The Current Competencies of HCM-UTE Students at FPT and Specific Recommendations for Collaborative Training to Meet Real-World Technology Project Demands.”

Continuing the program, Dr. Huynh Phuoc Son presented a report titled “HCM-UTE and Enterprises – Co-creating Value in High-Quality Human Resource Training.” He also moderated a direct discussion session between the university and business leaders, aiming to reach the most practical action commitments.

 

The seminar concluded with strong expectations and concrete commitments from both sides. Through this forum, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering once again reaffirmed its proactiveness and continuous efforts to improve training quality. Close collaboration with a network of reputable enterprises will remain a key factor in maintaining the university’s position as a leading provider of high-quality human resources in the Southern region.


Regarding the University’s Renaming

 

On December 26, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2809/QĐ-TTg, officially renaming Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE). The new name reflects the university’s multidisciplinary development orientation, its strengths in technology and engineering, and its current stature.

 

Before 2007, the university was a leading institution in technical teacher education. Since 2007, in response to changes in the national academic program classification system, the university has actively expanded its focus on technology, engineering, and related fields. The renaming aligns with the national higher education network development plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050, meeting workforce demands in the era of digital transformation while affirming its role as a key national university in technology and engineering.
