In an effort to further expand its international cooperation network, particularly in the fields of engineering, construction, and economics on March 14, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE), formerly known as Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, held a meeting and cooperation discussion with Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), China. With a strategic orientation toward developing joint training programs and promoting applied research in engineering and technology, the event is expected to open up numerous practical collaboration opportunities between the two institutions, especially in training high-quality human resources to support infrastructure and economic development.
Attending the meeting on behalf of HCM-UTE were Mr. Pham Bach Duong, MA – Head of the Office of International Affairs; Dr. Duong Tuan Tung – Head of the Advanced Education Faculty; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Hieu – Acting Head of the Faculty of Economics; along with lecturers from the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Representing BJTU were Prof. Liu Yingqi – Dean of the School of Business Administration; Ms. Gu Lin – Program Coordinator of the School of Business Administration; Ms. Wang Kang – Admissions Officer of the International Education Institute; along with other representatives.

At the meeting, both sides shared their respective strengths and development orientations. HCM-UTE expressed particular interest in developing joint training programs, notably the 2+2 model, aimed at enhancing training quality and expanding international integration opportunities for students.
According to the discussion, HCM-UTE and BJTU agreed to promote cooperation in various areas, including student exchange, faculty exchange, joint research projects, and strengthened academic collaboration. In particular, both institutions will focus on their key strengths such as engineering, construction, and economics , fields with strong development potential and alignment with the strategic directions of both universities.
The establishment of cooperation with BJTU, an institution with more than 130 years of history and strong expertise in transportation, railways, aviation, and engineering, continues to affirm HCM-UTE’s ongoing efforts in international integration, contributing to enhancing the university’s position on the regional and global education map.
In addition, both sides agreed to jointly organize workshops, academic programs, and exchange activities to strengthen connections within the academic community and promote substantive and effective collaboration in the future.
