On the afternoon of March 23, 2026, the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE), formerly known as Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, organized the international workshop titled “G7+ for Label & Packaging Printing: Consistent Color from Design to Production".

The workshop attracted more than 150 participants, including printing enterprises, experts, researchers, lecturers, and students, along with international speakers from the United States. It served not only as a forum to update the latest trends and standards in the printing industry, but also as a strategic bridge connecting the university with businesses, training organizations, and international certification bodies. The event contributed to improving training quality to meet industry demands, while gradually integrating advanced printing standards into the curriculum and promoting specialized online courses. Notably, within the program, the Faculty awarded scholarships to valedictorians and salutatorians of the 2025–2026 academic year, demonstrating strong collaboration between the Faculty and industry partners in developing high-quality human resources.

Focusing on G7 and G7+ standards, the workshop featured in-depth content through two scientific papers and approximately 15 research posters, addressing topics such as color management, process standardization, technological applications in quality control, and production optimization. All presentations were delivered within a single specialized session, highlighting the role of international standards in ensuring color consistency from design to production, while also proposing practical solutions tailored to the conditions of Vietnamese printing enterprises.

In addition to the presentations, a panel discussion was held with experts, business representatives, and managers to address challenges and opportunities in applying international standards such as G7+ in real-world production. Many practical questions from enterprises focused on implementation roadmaps, workforce capacity, and participation in global supply chains.

Alongside academic and industry networking activities, the workshop also recognized and encouraged outstanding academic achievements of students from the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media. During the event, the Faculty awarded scholarships to three salutatorians (VND 5 million each) and three valedictorians (VND 10 million each) for the 2025–2026 academic year. Notably, a student representative also received a scholarship worth up to VND 50 million from enterprise sponsors. These awards not only acknowledged students’ academic excellence but also reflected meaningful support from businesses and alumni in developing high-quality human resources for the printing industry.

The G7+ workshop achieved significant outcomes in strengthening connections between HCMUTE and the printing industry, particularly in the packaging and labeling sectors. Through presentations, discussions, and direct exchanges, the university created an effective academic–practical platform, enabling enterprises to access new technological trends, international standards such as G7+, and advanced quality control solutions. The event reaffirmed HCMUTE’s role as a dynamic bridge in knowledge updating, technology transfer, and fostering collaboration between academia and industry, thereby enhancing the competitiveness and global integration of Vietnam’s printing sector.
