On the morning of October 5, 2024, during the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 academic year and the 62nd Anniversary of the University's establishment (1962-2024), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) was presented with accreditation certificates for 17 undergraduate programs, in accordance with the quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Present at the ceremony were Dr. Nguyễn Đức Nghĩa – Head of the External Evaluation Team for the 17 programs, and a member of the Education Quality Accreditation Council at the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM.
From HCMUTE, there were Dr. Trương Thị Hiền – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang – Acting President of the University and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; along with leaders from various units, faculty members, staff, and students of the University.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, HCMUTE made significant efforts to reaffirm its educational quality through various activities. In addition to continuous improvements in quality, the University regularly invites reputable domestic and regional accreditation organizations to conduct external evaluations, aiming to standardize and enhance the quality and capacity of the higher education system, ensuring both internal and external quality, and gradually aligning with regional and international standards to meet the demand for skilled, high-quality human resources for the country.
In April, HCMUTE welcomed the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM, to evaluate 17 academic programs according to the Ministry of Education and Training's standards. The results showed that all 17 programs met the education quality standards set by the Ministry, achieving a 100% compliance rate with all criteria. The certificates were issued based on the Decision of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM, on July 19, 2024.
The accredited programs include those from the Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering faculties, such as Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Wood and Furniture Technology, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Thermal Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Environmental Technology, Food Technology, Civil Engineering, Transportation Infrastructure Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, and Materials Technology.
Dr. Nguyễn Đức Nghĩa, former Deputy Director of VNU-HCM and a member of the Education Quality Accreditation Council, congratulated HCMUTE on its achievement. He emphasized that program accreditation is an effective tool for ensuring and improving quality, demonstrating the institution's accountability to stakeholders, students, and society. Achieving accreditation reflects HCMUTE’s commitment to educational quality, responding to societal needs, and making significant contributions to national education development. He noted that HCMUTE's results, with 100% compliance on all 50 criteria across 17 programs, are among the best in the country.
He praised the University's ongoing application of the PDCA cycle for continuous quality improvement and noted the high-level expertise and dedication of the faculty. He also highlighted the modern facilities at HCMUTE, which provide favorable conditions for student learning and research, and the alignment of academic programs with market demands.
HCMUTE's educational philosophy, “Human-centered – Creative – Integrative,” continues to drive its commitment to improving education quality, focusing on student-centered development and sustainable growth. Through this accreditation process, HCMUTE has conducted a comprehensive self-assessment, identifying strengths and addressing areas for improvement, which will guide the University's long-term strategy for enhancing educational quality.
Looking ahead, HCMUTE plans to continue pursuing international accreditation standards and improving its global integration. This year, HCMUTE aims to accredit 20 more programs under MOET, ASIIN, and FIBAA standards as part of its core mission for the 2024-2025 academic year under the theme "University Governance Innovation and Global Integration," as mentioned by Prof. Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang at the Opening Ceremony.
