On November 24, 2018, at the closing and awards ceremony of the Euréka 2018 Student Scientific Research Awards, students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) awarded 07 valuable prizes including 01 first prize, 01 third prize and 05 Consolation Prizes in the fields of Engineering Technology, Planning - Architecture - Construction, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Food Technology, Resources and Environment.



The ceremony was held at the HCM Youth Cultural House on November 24th. Euréka Student Scientific Research Awards is an annual ceremony organized by the Standing Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, HCMC National University and Science and Technology Development Center. This is a prestigious academic playground for scientific research and creativity of students across the country, as well as a driving force for students' creativity. The year of 2018 also marks the 20th anniversary of the formation and development of this award (1998-2018).



This year's awards include 12 areas: Chemical - Pharmaceutical Technology, Biological - Biomedical Technology, Information Technology, Food Technology, Education, Economics, Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry, Fishery, Legal, Planning - Architecture - Construction, Resources - Environment, Society & Humanities. The scientific council has selected 165 topics which made it to the final round, from 903 topics of 106 students in 24 provinces in the country.

The Eureka Awards are awarded to scientific researches with topics that are highly applicable, highly practical, and of immediate relevance. The topics submitted to this year's awards as well as the quality of investment of the students are highly appreciated by the Scientific Council.



With 20 topics on the semi-finals (over 900 topics nationwide) and 09 topics in the final (out of 166 topics nationwide), students of HCMUTE excellent won 01 First Prize, 01 Third Prize and 05 Encouragement Prize. Specifically, the first prize belongs to the topic "Research, design and manufacture of Robot Massage based on artificial intelligence foundation" by Luong Huu Thanh Nam, Truong Cong Toai, Nguyen Dao Xuan Hai, Nguyen Tran Thanh Phong with the instruction of Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Truong Thinh (Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). The third prize belongs to the topic "Proposal on calculation of wind loads in accordance with TCVN 2737-1995 for complex structures and terrain" by Le Ich Trong, Dang Si Khiem and Nguyen Viet Khanh. 



Following the awards at the Ministerial level of Student Scientific Research Awards in 2018, the impressive results at the Euréka Student Research Award 2018 particularly demonstrate the capacity and creativity of HCMUTE students - potential technology lecturers/ engineers in the future and affirm the training environment of nursing talent at the HCMC University of Technology and Education.
