On December 31, 2024, the Traditional Spring Fair 2025 took place at Dormitory D2 of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE).
The Traditional Spring Fair is an annual event organized by the Dormitory Management Board in collaboration with the Student Union, marking the occasion of the New Year. Its primary goal is to create a festive atmosphere within the dormitory, providing students with opportunities to engage in fun, healthy activities as the Lunar New Year approaches. Additionally, the fair serves as a platform for students to learn about Vietnam’s traditional cultural festivals, foster connections between resident and non-resident students, and showcase the beauty of Vietnam’s customs to international students living at the dormitory.

At the Spring Fair 2025, students enjoyed a variety of engaging and exciting activities, including the traditional Bánh Tét (Vietnamese Tet Cake) wrapping competition, folk games, a gala night with award ceremonies, and the karaoke contest titled “Spring Harmony Night.”
The fair kicked off with the Bánh Tét wrapping activity and the “Vietnamese Bánh Tét” competition, where students had the opportunity to learn how to prepare ingredients and carefully wrap the Tet cakes for the competition. This activity not only allowed students to showcase their creativity and precision but also provided a chance to preserve and appreciate the cultural heritage of Vietnam. Each Tet cake reflected the creativity, teamwork, and pride of the participants, adding to the lively, spring-filled atmosphere of the event.

Following the cake-making contest, the fair continued with folk games and food stalls. Students had the chance to take part in various traditional games and earn vouchers, which could be exchanged for souvenirs at the stalls.
The Traditional Spring Fair 2025 also saw the active involvement of dormitory supervisors, who played an essential role in supporting the event’s organization. This demonstrated the close-knit relationship and care shown by the Dormitory Management Board for the students. During the gala and award ceremony, Ms. Do Thi Hieu, Deputy Director of the Dormitory Management Board, extended her New Year’s wishes for “health, prosperity, success, and good fortune” to all students and their families as they prepared to welcome 2025.
