On the evening of December 11, 2025, at the Grand Hall of Area A, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) organized a charity fundraising music night entitled “HCMUTE Spreading Love – Accompanying Students After the Floods.” The event brought together a large number of artists, benefactors, members of the retired faculty community, alumni, staff, employees, and students of the University. Through the program, a total of VND 376,918,062 was raised to support students and high school pupils whose families suffered especially severe losses during the historic floods in Central Vietnam in 2025.

Attending the program were Dr. Quach Thanh Hai – Vice President of HCMUTE; M.A. Nguyen Thanh Giang – Vice Chairperson of the University Trade Union and Director of the Dormitory Management Board; Dr. Tran Thanh Thuong – Head of the Office of Student Affairs; along with representatives of the Youth Union – Student Association, the Association of Retired Faculty, lecturers, staff, employees, and students of the University.
Held in the spirit of solidarity and compassion, the program expressed deep concern for communities in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, particularly families of HCMUTE students who are struggling to overcome the devastating aftermath of natural disasters. Through the power of music, the University aimed to spread empathy, inspire collective responsibility, and mobilize social resources to help affected students stabilize their lives and continue their studies with confidence.

Meaningful Contributions from Organizations and Individuals
The charity music night received generous and heartfelt contributions from numerous organizations and individuals, including:
• The Trade Union of HCMUTE, which mobilized VND 324,844,790 (including VND 100,000,000 already transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front in accordance with Notice No. 114/TB-CD dated November 24, 2025);
• The Alumni Business Club of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, contributing VND 51,000,000 to support students of the Faculty whose families were affected by floods;
• The Association of Retired Faculty of HCMUTE, contributing VND 15,000,000;
• The HCMUTE Alumni Association, contributing VND 15,000,000;
• The Youth Union of BIDV – East Saigon Branch, contributing VND 10,000,000;
• An Vien Coffee Trading Joint Stock Company (Last Minute), contributing VND 5,000,000.
These meaningful contributions not only provided essential material assistance but also served as a powerful source of emotional encouragement, helping students gain strength and resilience to overcome adversity after the floods.
Emotional Moments and Artistic Performances
One of the most touching moments of the program was the sharing session with two students facing particularly difficult circumstances. Phan Tien Thinh, who lost both parents during the floods, and Nguyen Phuc Yen, who recently lost his father, shared their stories with remarkable courage. Their sincerity, resilience, and determination to continue pursuing their education deeply moved the entire audience.
The program also featured the enthusiastic participation of many renowned artists, including Meritorious Artist Van Khanh, guitarist Ha Nguyen, and singers Phuong Thanh, Quoc Dai, Duyen Quynh, Kyo York, Huynh Loi, Tran Kim Lien, Hong Mo, Tanh Linh, Le Thu Ha, Quoc Anh, Minh Phuong, Quoc Tinh, Phuc Julie, among others. In addition, music and dance groups such as Group 135, Nhat Nguyet, Viva, Hai Au, together with HCMUTE student art clubs, delivered carefully choreographed and emotionally powerful performances that strongly conveyed the message of sharing and compassion.

Emergency Support Distribution
At the conclusion of the program, the Organizing Committee officially announced the total amount raised: VND 376,918,062. From this fund, HCMUTE provided emergency support to individuals and groups severely affected by the floods, including:
• VND 50,000,000 to support student Phan Tien Thinh;
• VND 30,000,000 to support student Nguyen Phuc Yen;
• VND 51,000,000 for students of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering whose families were affected by floods;
• VND 50,000,000 for 10 HCMUTE students whose families were affected by floods;
• VND 195,918,062 for families of high school pupils affected by the floods.
Practical Support in Flood-Affected Areas
In addition to the fundraising activities, from December 4 to 9, 2025, the HCMUTE Youth Union – Student Association organized a volunteer working team consisting of 20 staff members, employees, and students specializing in residential and industrial electrical engineering. The team was directly deployed to Dong Xuan Commune to support post-flood recovery efforts.
The recent disaster caused serious damage to public lighting systems, household electrical networks, and essential electrical equipment, particularly affecting poor households, policy beneficiary families, and elderly people living alone. During the mission, the team carried out numerous practical activities, including repairing household electrical systems for 38 households in Go Oi Hamlet (Phu Son Village) and presenting each household with a wall-mounted fan and a household electrical box. The support was later expanded to Tan Long, Tan Hoa, Tan Phuoc, and Tan Tho villages, focusing on families in especially difficult circumstances.
By December 7, the team coordinated with the Commune Public Service Center to repair the public broadcasting system and public lighting, ensuring uninterrupted communication and improved safety for local residents after the floods. In addition, the team implemented five key tasks: distributing 20 gift packages (each worth VND 1,000,000) to disadvantaged households; repairing public lighting systems; replacing electrical wiring and equipment for approximately 120 households across multiple villages; repairing electrical systems at flooded school sites; and presenting 20 gift packages (each worth VND 1,000,000) to individuals who courageously rescued others during the floods.
