On the morning of October 29, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) held a Graduation Ceremony and awarded Bachelor’s Degrees to 28 new graduates in Business Administration and Electrical – Electronics Engineering from the international joint training program between HCMUTE and the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, in collaboration with TMC Academy, Singapore.

Attending the ceremony were Dr. James Scott – Academic Director for Transnational Education (TNE), and Prof. Jo Crotty – Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Global Engagement from the University of Sunderland, UK. Representing TMC Academy, Singapore, was Mr. John Lee – CEO of TMC Academy.

 

From HCMUTE, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – President of HCMUTE; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Dinh Nhon – Dean of the Faculty of International Education; MA. Pham Bach Duong – Director of the Office of International Affairs; faculty members from the Faculty of International Education and the Office of International Affairs, along with the 28 new graduates and their families and friends.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang, President of HCMUTE, congratulated the new graduates and acknowledged their dedication, perseverance, and serious academic spirit throughout their studies. He emphasized:

 

"You are the center of this ceremony, the pride of the university and of the partnership between the University of Sunderland, TMC Academy, and HCMUTE. The world out there awaits your curiosity, courage, and desire to contribute. Always remember three precious values: keep learning, for knowledge is an endless journey; keep loving, for kindness adds meaning to success; and keep daring, for only courage can turn dreams into reality. Step confidently into the world, carrying knowledge, strength, and the Vietnamese spirit to serve, lead, and inspire."

 

He also expressed sincere appreciation to the University of Sunderland and TMC Academy for their partnership in delivering a high-quality international program, providing students with global knowledge and promising career pathways.

Following that, Dr. James Scott expressed pride in witnessing Vietnamese students successfully complete a rigorous international training program, affirming that this achievement reflects the strong cooperation between the institutions. He shared:

 

"Today’s ceremony is not only an ending, but also the beginning of a new journey. In a world of constant change, you are encouraged to remain open-minded, compassionate, and understanding so you may become global citizens contributing to a better future."

Representing the graduates, new Bachelor Nguyen Nhat Thao Quyen expressed heartfelt gratitude to HCMUTE’s leadership, professors from the University of Sunderland and TMC Academy, and the Faculty of International Education at HCMUTE for their dedication and support throughout the program. She shared that today’s achievement reflects continuous effort and guidance from teachers, and marks the beginning of a new journey where each graduate brings knowledge and ambition to contribute to the community and society.

The Graduation Ceremony for the joint training program between HCMUTE and the University of Sunderland concluded in a solemn and heartfelt atmosphere. The memorable moment when 28 graduates tossed their caps marked the end of a journey of perseverance, growth, and pride. This milestone not only celebrates academic achievement but also opens a new chapter, where graduates confidently enter the global environment as proactive, resilient global citizens ready to contribute to the community.
