UTEx is an overall combination of the green education ecosystem (environment, architecture and culture - people) and the open education ecosystem with a streamlined management model based on online technology
platforms.
It can be regarded as pioneering in the renovation of higher education in the era of 4.0 industry nationwide.
Like any other normal university, UTEx belongs to Vietnam public education system.
At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Dung emphasized that it was HCMUTE students and lecturers who benefited directly from UTEx.
“It creates connections to the e-university’s ecosystem, including businesses, provinces, high schools, and international schools, serving those who need to study through an online environment.”
“Parents can also monitor their children’s learning activities,” he added.
According to Dr. Tuan, UTEx will provide an optimal and cost-effective solution to education, making the most use of the university existing resources.
It inherits and takes advantage of the current widely-used second generation eLearning systems (Moodle, Blackboard, Open Edx, Emodo, etc.) in Vietnam, and at the same time develops and shifts itself to eLearning 4.0.

Combining the university’s educational philosophy of humanity – innovation - integration into modern teaching technologies, UTEx can make a difference.
Its teaching and learning activities are designed to meet new trends in education, which is developing the education ecosystem, open educational resources, and smart connection education (universities, enterprises and community).
Apart from inheriting and making full advantage of 4.0 technologies like A.I., Big Data, AR/VR, 3D, etc., UTEx also applies and develops connection class models (eClass) on multi-platform websites, etc.
Via UTEx, students’ personal learning environment is optimized and their progress will be evaluated through a good variety of assessment instruments such as rubrics or multiple choice questions, and different assessment methods like evaluation by the community, teachers/experts, and peers, or personal activity analysis.
