On the morning of September 25, 2025, the German Career Bus arrived at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), providing students with firsthand information about study, research, and career opportunities in Germany.

The event was attended by Mr. Christopher Scholl – Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Do Minh Viet – Marketing Director and Education Advisor of DAAD Vietnam, and Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Truc – Program Officer for Innovation in Vocational Training (TVET) at GIZ Vietnam. Representing HCMUTE were leaders from the Office of International Affairs, the Faculty of International  Education, along with lecturers and students from the university.

The German Career Bus is an educational and vocational cooperation project jointly organized by the German Embassy in Hanoi, the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany. After starting its journey in Hanoi and traveling through various provinces and cities, HCMUTE became one of the key stops of the German Career Bus in Ho Chi Minh City.

The visit carried great significance as HCMUTE and the Federal Republic of Germany have shared nearly 60 years of close cooperation, covering numerous training, research, and academic exchange programs. Notably, Germany supported the establishment of the Vietnam–Germany Center at HCMUTE, and many of the university’s lecturers have studied or undergone professional training in Germany — a testament to the long-standing partnership between the two sides. This event further deepened the collaboration between HCMUTE and German partners, opening up more opportunities for students in education, research, and employment in Germany, while also strengthening the bilateral friendship and educational–vocational cooperation between the two nations.

At the event, MSc. Pham Bach Duong – Head of the Office of International Affairs at HCMUTE – remarked:

“It is an honor for HCMUTE to welcome the German Career Bus today. This is not only an experiential event but also a symbol of the 50 years of friendship and sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and Germany. It also sends a message to our students: dare to dream and seize opportunities to study, research, and work in an international environment.”

In his speech, Mr. Christopher Scholl – Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City – emphasized that Germany always values educational and training cooperation with Vietnam, considering it a vital foundation for mutual understanding and sustainable development. The German Career Bus, he said, serves as a bridge enabling young Vietnamese generations to access knowledge and grasp learning and working opportunities in Germany.

During the program, HCMUTE students enjoyed a variety of activities, including:

Presentations on study programs, scholarships, and career opportunities in Germany;

Sharing sessions with HCMUTE lecturers who previously studied in Germany;

Visiting the exhibition space inside the German Career Bus;

Experiencing German culture through food stalls, VR-based interactive games, and souvenir gifts;

Participating in a quiz competition about Germany with chances to win free short-term study trips in Germany.

Through this program, HCMUTE students were able to access reliable, first-hand information about studying and working in Germany, understanding the complete pathway from learning the German language, applying for scholarships, to finding legitimate career opportunities. The active participation and curiosity shown by students in discussions with educational institutions, companies, and former German alumni created a dynamic and engaging atmosphere. It also offered them practical insights into studying and working in an international environment while enhancing their cultural adaptability and confidence to step into the global stage.

This event also marked another step in HCMUTE’s expanding educational collaboration with German partners, further realizing the university’s educational philosophy: “Humanity – Innovation – Integration.”

The German Career Bus itself is a 12-meter-long mobile trailer, specially designed with a solar-powered stage, interactive learning areas, and educational resources, providing an engaging and informative experience for all visitors. Inside the bus, visitors can access seminars, information, and expert advice from both German and Vietnamese specialists to help them orient themselves within today’s global job market.

From February to November 2025, the German Career Bus is scheduled to visit 20 provinces and cities across Vietnam, including:
