Following the success of “Job Fair 2019”, on the morning of 7/7/2020, at the Great Hall of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Job Fair 2020 took place with the message “Connecting success, accompanying development”. This is an opportunity for students to learn, exchange and identify their future careers. At the same time, this is the chance for employers to select qualified candidates.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education is a training institution that was constantly improving the form and the quality of training. At the same time, the school also focused on investing in practice workshops that provide students with many learning opportunities. More than 80% of graduates had jobs after 3 months, and they receive good assessments, knowledge and skills from companies and businesses. The above successes were the initial results from Job Fair 2019 with the attendance of 73 enterprises with 84 booths. More than 590 out of 5,564 candidates were interviewed directly in the total resume sent.

In this year’s Job Fair, there were the presences of Assoc. Prof. Do Van Dung - President of the university, PhD. Truong Thi Hien - Vice President, MA. Pham Huu Thai - Head of Business Relations Department and lecturers, who are representatives of faculties, departments, divisions and units in the university. At the ceremony, PhD. Truong Thi Hien - Vice President, Head of the Organizing Committee, once again emphasized that the school was a bridge between businesses and students. At the same time, she also affirmed the role of providing high-quality human resources of the university to society, companies, businesses, which would provide a professional, multicultural and competitive environment to help students develop self-competence, become great engineers.

Coming to the festival, in addition to the booth and introduced job positions, Konica Minolta Business Solutions VN also awarded 10 scholarships to the students and donated a nonprofit printing sponsorship package with the value of 150 million VND.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the program also awarded students who had impressive works in the “Designing media publications for Job Fair 2020” competition - an activity on the sidelines of the event.
As an annual activity of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education and with the aim of overcoming the difficult conditions caused by nCOVID-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee of “Job Fair 2020” still strived to ensure the expected progress of the event to meet the job-seeking demands of students and the recruitment demands of businesses. This confirmed the message “Connecting success and accompanying development”. In this year, there was the participation of 44 enterprises, 54 booths which brought over 1500 positions for application with 20 face-to-face interview rooms and many exciting activities.

With the thoughtful preparation and the desire to let students possess necessary skills before this year’s Job Fair, the Office of Business Relations organized soft skills workshops for students: “Skills of writing resumes to apply for a job”; “Job interviewing skills”, “Negotiating skills”, “Online seminars”; “Students in the age of 4.0, career preparation”; to help students feel more confident in applying for a job while still studying in the school.
Joining “Job Fair of University of Technology and Education in 2020”, students could interact, learn and interview with Enterprises, from which they could identify their suitable job after graduation and have an adequate and stable preparation to conquer future employers. In the fair, businesses had the opportunity to promote their brand to society and look for young and qualified human resources.

The successful Job Fair 2020 was an important bridge between students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education and businesses. Hopefully, with the attentive care from the school leaders, the students will have more opportunities to actively interact and learn with real businesses; thereby, the students are equipped with more professional knowledge, strong skills to confidently persuade employers and find suitable jobs.
