In order to fulfill the University's quality objectives for SY 2019-2020 on strengthening international student exchange, HCMUTE has received 6 exchange students from Japan and France within the first semester. 

The three Japanese students from Josai International University studied at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of HCMUTE under the ASEAN Young Women's Leadership Scholarship, a scholarship program only for female students sponsored by Japanese Student Services Organization (JASSO), Japan. The others 3 students from France studied at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering according to the MoU for exchange and cooperation between Ecam Lyon University and HCMUTE.

 


During the exchange period, the international students took subjects that were suitable for their majors under good care and instruction of HCMUTE professors. In addition, they have had valuable memories when participating in extracurricular activities, exchanging and learning more about Vietnamese culture, visiting famous tourist destinations in Vietnam and some Southeast Asian countries with buddies from English clubs, lab-mates and local friends.



At the end of the exchange semester, French students created HCMUTE souvenir in their final projects whereas Japanese students expressed their gratitude to the university with their significantly improved English proficiency. They all affirmed that it was a great time at HCMUTE where they could make friends and explore more about the culture, habits and customs of Vietnam. Moreover, the lecturers’ enthusiasm and HCMUTE students’ friendliness made them feel like at home. In addition, the Science Technology and International Affairs Office also helped arrange and support them in accommodation, living, and gave good advices in choosing fields to study and subjects.
