On the morning of August 8, 2023, Gold Tech Industries (GTI) Vietnam Limited Liability Company organized the inauguration ceremony of its company. Attending the ceremony from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) were Assoc. Prof.Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Vice President in charge of the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Nguyen Luan Vu, Deputy Head of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Head of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty.
This collaboration opens up opportunities for students to intern and work with the company, providing mutual support and consultation in related fields at the university. The partnership aims to establish an engineering program specializing in semiconductor chip design to meet the pressing needs of society. It is worth noting that during the regular government meeting in July on the 5th of August, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh instructed the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Information and Communications, Education and Training, and Science and Technology to collaborate in developing a plan to train 30,000-50,000 engineers and 100 experts in digital transformation and semiconductor chip production. This initiative aligns with the government's emphasis on promoting electronic chip production in Vietnam.
During the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, conveyed warm congratulations to GTI Vietnam Limited Liability Company. He expressed happiness at the opportunity to collaborate with the company and highlighted the potential benefits for both the university and its students. He emphasized the university's 60-year history of establishment, development, and collaboration with various industries and international universities. The university has previously partnered with companies such as Intel, Bosch, Renesas, SMC, and other major corporations. With an annual output of around 5,000 engineers and bachelor's degree graduates, the university aims to provide a skilled workforce for businesses and industrial zones.
Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang expressed hope that future engagements with companies would further support the university in enhancing the quality of education and training. He invited companies to visit the university and explore new collaborative opportunities.
GTI Vietnam Limited Liability Company, established in March 2017, has invested in modern machinery and equipment, including robots imported from the United States. The company engages in plastic production, mechanical processing, metal coating, and manufacturing metal products. Since its inception, the company has created job opportunities for hundreds of skilled workers in the local area, contributing to the economic development of Binh Duong province and specifically the town of Ben Cat.
