During the program, Dr. Bui Duc Luong, Specialist Level I, Deputy Head of the Outpatient Department at Saigon International Orthopaedics and Traumatology Hospital under the Saigon ITO Hospital System, delivered a presentation entitled "Preventing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Recognition and Effective Prevention Methods."

The presentation introduced the causes, early warning signs, risk factors, and preventive measures for carpal tunnel syndrome. According to Dr. Luong, the condition occurs when the median nerve is compressed within the carpal tunnel, resulting in pain, numbness, and impaired hand function. For lecturers, office workers, and students, prolonged use of computers and mobile devices with poor posture significantly increases the risk of developing the syndrome. He also demonstrated simple wrist stretching and mobility exercises while recommending proper working posture and regular breaks to reduce strain on the wrists and support long-term musculoskeletal health.

The program continued with a presentation by Dr. Chu Thi Dung, Specialist Level II, Head of the Department of Medical Psychology at Ho Chi Minh City Psychiatric Hospital, on "Caring for and Promoting Mental Well-being." Her session focused on recognizing and managing stress in modern life.

According to Dr. Dung, stress is a common issue that can affect anyone. If left unmanaged over an extended period, it may negatively impact both physical and mental health and increase the risk of depression and anxiety disorders. Participants learned how to identify early signs of stress and burnout while developing positive habits such as maintaining a healthy work-life balance, monitoring daily emotional well-being, and seeking professional support when necessary to protect and improve their mental health.

About the University's Name Change

On December 26, 2025, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision No. 2809/QĐ-TTg, officially renaming Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE). The new name better reflects the University's multidisciplinary development strategy, its strengths in technology and engineering, and its current standing.

Before 2007, the University was recognized as one of Vietnam's leading institutions for technical teacher education. Since 2007, following changes to the national academic discipline classification system, the University has significantly expanded its technology, engineering, and related academic programs. The name change aligns with Vietnam's Higher Education Network Development Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision toward 2050, responds to workforce demands in the digital transformation era, and reaffirms HCM-UTE's role as a national key university in technology and engineering.
