In the context of increasingly deep ASEAN integration, international student exchange programmes play an important role in enhancing students’ global competencies, intercultural skills, and adaptability in international environments. The “Vietnam - Myanmar Student Exchange Program 2026: HCM-UTE x BUC” was organized with the goal of strengthening mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Myanmar students while promoting cultural connectivity within the ASEAN community. Through academic activities, thematic discussions, and practical exchange sessions, students from both institutions had opportunities to exchange knowledge, share perspectives, and learn from one another in the fields of Business and Computer Science.

During the program, HCM-UTE representatives introduced the university’s development journey, internationalization orientation, and academic strengths. Presentations on the modern learning environment, international cooperation programs, and practice-oriented training helped BUC students gain a clearer understanding of HCM-UTE as well as higher education in Vietnam. In addition, the seminar titled “Fundamentals of Vietnamese Culture,” delivered by lecturers from the Faculty of Politics and Law, provided Myanmar students with essential yet profound insights into Vietnamese culture, people, and traditional values. Through group discussions and interactive activities, students from both universities not only exchanged knowledge but also learned how to listen, respect cultural differences, and develop an integration-oriented mindset.

Meanwhile, Business students had opportunities to engage in learning activities and thematic discussions with lecturers from the Faculty of High-Quality Training and the Institute of International Education. These activities helped students develop teamwork skills, international communication abilities, and collaboration skills in multicultural environments.

For HCM-UTE students, the program served as a valuable opportunity to improve their English communication skills in real-life settings, develop intercultural communication competencies, and broaden their global perspectives. Working and interacting with international students not only boosted their confidence in integrated environments but also fostered proactiveness, creativity, and readiness to adapt to the international labor market in the future.

The program left many positive impressions on BUC students regarding the dynamic and friendly learning environment at HCM-UTE. Myanmar students highly appreciated the enthusiasm and openness of Vietnamese students, as well as the university’s modern facilities. Their learning experiences, cultural exchanges, and participation in collective activities helped them better understand Vietnam and strengthened the connection between students of the two countries.
