The Ministry of Education and Training and Lattitude global volunteering are partners in a project supplying the youth who are citizens of native - speaking English countries and have suitable level (“called volunteers”) to support Vietnam in teaching English.

This project has received the interest from many schools. However, the number of volunteers does not meet the needs, so the delegation has to make a cautious survey and evaluation before signing agreement with each school.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Huy – Lattitude Vietnam Program Manager – on March 27th, 2013 made an official visit to University of Technical Education Ho Chi Minh City (UTE). He made a discussion with the Board of Rectors, the representatives of Research Management and International Relations Office and Faculty of Foreign Languages about the ability of cooperation as well as appraised the material facilities, teaching and studying conditions at UTE. After carefully surveying and evaluating, UTE received the approval from the Program Manager by signing a Volunteer Agreement. Necessary procedures are being underway to welcome the volunteers when the new school year 2013 – 2014 starts.

Signing Volunteer Agreement is a precious opportunity for UTE to set the stage to carry out the goal of improving English skill for teachers and students. Especially, the long-term achievement that contributes to the stable development is to promote foreign language efficiency and teaching method for faculty of UTE. Having this opportunity, UTE will lay the ground to achieve the goal engaged with Intel Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training in teaching at least 50% programs of the last year of Electrical and Electronic Engineering  and Mechanical Engineering branches in English.
