In the morning of November 20th, at the meeting-hall, during the thirtieth anniversary of Vietnamese Teacher’s Day, the University of Technical Education Ho Chi Minh City announced the launch of the 150-Credit Program, adapting the CDIO Approach.

In his speech, Eminent Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai Ba Can - the President - reviewed the glorious history and tradition of the day and informed about the program.
He wished all the teachers and personnel a good health and hoped they would always have desire to be role models for excellent morals, study attitude and then keep on contributing to the school’s educational improvement. Besides, he gave the students many wishes and advice, expressing his care to how responsible to the school, the families and the whole society they could be.

Under the observation of the offices, departments, centers and institutes, Mr. Thai Ba Can gave decision and assigned the faculties’ leaders’ representatives to deploy the new 150-Credit Program, adapting the CDIO Approach. It would be applied to the class of 2012. CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) is a new, modern method in training and teaching program’s construction. In the generation, the school used this method to reduce the number of credits from 185 to 150, which would make the time that students spend sitting in classes less. This means they have to replace passive studying with a more active way like searching for materials in the library or on the Internet.
