Hame University of Applied Science (HAMK) is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Technology and Engineering with seven different campuses over southern Finland. It is an innovative multi-disciplinary institution which offers 27 bachelor-level, 8 master-level and 4 professional teacher education programs to 7000 students with 600 staff. HAMK’s mission is to provide professional higher education to support students’ professional development and requirements of the world of work, and to carry out important applied research in regional, national and global level.
HAMK University and Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) have had a long term relationship with a commonly signed MoU and an ongoing ERASMUS+ project (EMVITET).
EMVITET Project - Empowering Vietnamese VET Teachers for Transformation towards Education 4.0 – is a project to strengthen Vietnamese lecturers towards education platform 4.0 of the Erasmus+ program, this is funded by the European Community. Through EMVITET Project there are more opportunities for Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to visit, study Innovative Teaching Methods as well as to improve traditional education methods in Education 4.0. A series of interactions have been conducted between the 2 universities. From May 6th to May 11th, HCMUTE Rector had a trip to visit HAMK University campus. From September 15th to October 6th, 2019, a 7-member HCMUTE lecturer delegation paid a study visit to HAMK University on Finnish educational approach, learning environments and new innovative ways to develop education towards education 4.0. Most recently, in November 5th, the Rector and Vice Rector of HAMK University has had an official visit to HCMUTE to explore more about the campus as well as discuss next steps in cooperation relationship between the two parties.
In this visit, Presidents as well as representatives of HCMUTE and HAMK universities had a friendly discussion about future targets, strategic management model, challenges and difficulties in the process to innovate and apply new teaching methods in HCMUTE. After that, they had a campus tour to understand more about HCMUTE facilities. Both parties agreed on the areas where they can continue to develop solutions together and look for next steps to firm the cooperation.
