On 14th December 2015, at Hochiminh City University of Theatre and Cinema, Vietnam Health, Education and Literature Projects (VNHELP) awarded 254 Nguyen Truong To scholarships, each worth 250 USD to support students from low-income working families. Amonng these scholarship winners, 50 were from Hochiminh City University of Technology and Education.

Since its founding in 1991 in the United States, VNHELP has consecutively encouraged the learning of students from low-income working families all over Vietnam and provided them with long-term supports. VNHELP awarded 212 scholarships to students in 2013 and 254 in 2015. The 2015 Nguyen Truong To Scholarship awardees are from six institues in Hochiminh City, including University of Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Argriculture and Forestry, University of Technology and Education, University of Theatre and Cinema, and The Conservatory.
Representatives from the universities
Most of the 2015 Nguyen Truong To Scholarship awardees have received this scholarship for four consecutive academic years. This is a distinguishing feature of this scholarship which gives continuing supports to students during their 4 year course on the condition that they can prove their maintenance or improvement of academic performance, meet ethical standards for students and are from low-income working families.
