1. Background
In 1976, after the school name was changed from Education University to HCMC University of Technology and Education, the Equipment and Maintennance Office was set up.     
In 1993, the Equipment and Maintennance Office merged with the Financial Affairs Office to form the Financial Affairs and Equipment Office.
In 2003, the Financial Affairs and Equipment Office separated into 02 offices: Financial Planning Office and Administration and Equipment Office.
In 2008, the University separated the Administration and Equipment Office into the Administration and Projects Management Office and the Equipment and Maintennance Office.

2. FUNCTIONS AND MISSION
- Assisting the President to manage, provide, exploit, maintain, and effectively use the equipment facilities of the university.
- Planning yearly equipment projects
- Planning and predicting the need for equipment and facilities, monitoring, inspecting the implementation of contracts and orders for equipment purchases.
- Purchasing and maintaining equipment and facilities to cater to the demand of training, research, facilitating production and life. 
- Controlling stock, equipment, facility, distribution of equipment and facilities to  the units as per schedule, in compliance with the procedure and equipment management principles.
- Balancing and mobilizing equipment among units to guarantee reasonable and effective use.
- Organizing the management, exploitation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
- Instructing and supervising inventory compilation, testing, categorizing and evaluate efficiency of equipment use every year.
- Be a permanent member of the Equipment Inventory and Liquidation Committee
- Managing, arranging, and repairing transportation means as assigned by the president.
- Being responsible for bidding and selecting equipment supply contractors according to the state regulations, including project creation, bidding, equipment supply tracking, result report, etc.
