On the afternoon of September 28, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) hosted a 30-year reunion for the 1994 alumni of the Electrical Supply and Electrification – Electrical and Electronics Engineering programs (DKĐ – KDD). This event was not only a chance for alumni to return to their beloved campus, reminisce about cherished memories, and express heartfelt gratitude to their teachers, but also an opportunity to recognize their contributions to the growth of the faculty and the university. During the reunion, alumni donated a total of VND 90 million to the university’s scholarship fund, demonstrating their strong bonds and commitment to supporting current and future students.
The reunion took place in a warm atmosphere at the main auditorium in Zone A on campus – a venue that holds countless memories of the DKĐ – KDD student journey. Distinguished attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Chi Kien – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Dr. Nguyen Van Long Giang – Member of the Party Committee and Head of the Equipment and Materials Department, Mr. Pham Huu Thai – Head of the Corporate Relations Department, and Mr. Le Viet Tien – Deputy Head of the Communications Department. The event was further graced by former faculty members, including Mr. Ho Xuan Thanh – Former Secretary of the Party Committee, Term XI, and a large number of DKĐ – KDD 1994 alumni. The gathering was marked by heartfelt handshakes, smiles, and stories that transported everyone back to the vibrant years of their youth, full of ambition and unbreakable friendships.

The program began with a warm welcome from the organizing committee. A video showcasing memorable moments from their time at the university evoked deep emotions, bringing to life vivid images of teachers, friends, and invaluable lessons. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Văn Thuyên, a distinguished alumnus and former Chairman of the University Council, shared heartfelt memories of his journey from the lecture halls to his successes in life. He expressed profound gratitude to the university and its educators, who had always guided and supported him.

Following the emotional opening, Ms. Trần Thanh Mai, one of the faculty members who accompanied the DKĐ – KDD 1994 cohort, delivered an earnest speech. She expressed pride in witnessing the growth and success of the alumni and emphasized that the teacher-student bond does not end with graduation but remains a lifelong connection. Her sincere words reignited an appreciation for the core values cultivated during their years of study and campus life, evoking fond memories of a vibrant youth.

In a special segment, the alumni awarded 20 scholarships to outstanding students of the faculty and contributed a total of VND 90 million to the scholarship fund. These scholarships not only provide financial support but also embody HCMUTE’s educational philosophy of Humanity, Creativity, and Integration, encouraging students to develop comprehensively in knowledge, skills, and global thinking. This initiative aims to nurture individuals who will contribute positively to society.
